Looking For Ideas!

Okay PnQ familia, I'm in charge of coming up with marketing ideas for our office (insurance agency). My boss wants to go out and give some little treats or cheap gifts with our business cards to businesses around the towns in our area, but we can't think of good ideas.

A girl in the area markets to us and brings us goodies - this month it was those otter pop things, popsicle liquid you freeze and then eat later. For April, around easter she brought in cheetos in a triangled bag and tied green string on it to look like a carrott etc.

It's tailored to the month. I'm thinking of doing something for the quirky holidays (August is: Admit You're Happy Month
Family Fun Month
National Catfish Month
National Eye Exam Month
National Golf Month
Peach Month
Romance Awareness Month
Water Quality Month
National Picnic Month )

Can you guys think of anything? I'm just too close to the situation to think lol. We market to garages/auto body shops, car dealerships, small businesses like cafes, coffee shops, stores, barber/salons etc. Just need an affordable little reminder that hey! we're here, don't forget about us.

I'll try to think of something, Britt. This sounds hard.

I thought of some! For august were going to bring people smores kits. Everyone likes getting food lol. We will wrap up mallows, graham crackers and a candy bar with some string and put our business card with it.

It'll get easier as we have months with themes, like Halloween etc.

May I ask what kind of insurance does your company sell to these businesses: business liability ins, auto ins, worker's comp or health?

I didn't understand much. Do you mean you want some titles like:

Peach Month, etc...

Auto, home, life, business, farm...we offer health and are licensed but our office personally doesn't write it.

You know how sometimes there are quirky and bizarre holidays? That aren't actual holidays but goofy fun ones? I found a website that said one month is peach month etc.

If it is the little gifts/tokens that your co. wants to hand out with their logo/tel and/or a pre-printed quote, here are some known and effective cheapy gifts:
Pens (most effective)
sticky pads
small desk calendars
magnets
coffee mugs or insulated tumbler mugs
pen lights

Perishables (cookies, fruits) generally are not an effective strategy.
There are quite a few websites which offer these little gifts. Maybe look them up for addl ideas.

Mm, you could give out cookies, Im not sure what kind of insurance you offer, but a good slogan is always fun, something like,
"Your life, your loss, our bill,"

Lonely that's stuff we do already :) were trying to branch out a bit and do something no one else in the area does.

If you're a health insurance, I wouldn't be giving out food products. Your customers according to data shows a large percent could be diabetic....they'd be collapsing all over the place and you'd eventually wind up with a bankrupt company.
Give 'em pens like every one else does.
