    Hey, everyone!
Name one thing, silly or serious, an everyday thing or not, that you are thankful for. The person below has to construct a poem based on that, or how it may relate to them. Let's have fun with this and get those poetic fingers writing and sparking some inspiration here.

    I'm grateful for... butter.

    Good one!

    Butter (Senryu)

    Try to stay away;
    margarine and goat butter,
    two peas in a... STROKE!

    Brain (Acrostic)

    Bewildered by the universe I
Reached for last specks of sanity within me
And my soul savored its sweetness. For
    I have forgotten its
    Natural tastes.

    Title: Homelessness (Senyru)

    feet bleed immensely
for a pair of shoes while stepped
    on broken, sharped glass

    I’m grateful for ... babies.

Title a reason to go on

    babes born, screaming wildly
    vivid anguished faces
    melting this stubborn old heart
    before we met
I existed only as an effigy
    potential crammed into negativity
    yet those tiny little fingers
    wrapped around one of mine
points me to a better future
    guiding me to a purpose
    understanding now dawns
    I live for my babies.

I'm grateful for ... the past

    Somehow, I manage,
    and isn't it astounding
    that through all our pain,
    the mountains we once
    regarded as obstructions,
    we've found a way to
    climb over.

    over the despair, the
    humility that the past
    has bestowed on us.
    We're hurt, there's no
    diminishing there,
    yet we understand
    ourselves just a little
    better.

    My throat itches,
    as I tried to swallow
    your fur was stuck
    and I couldn’t breath.

    Still I downed my pill,
    and your paw rested on
    my palm, as I brushed
    your back carefully.
