Continuing The Never Ending Poem

Overwhelmed in my shattered heart's grief
In nowhere but death can I find my release

i take the knife
in hope the pain will cease

I tell myself it's the only way to be free
To escape this loveless existance that came to be
Bound by the chains of a broken tattered heart
I must find a place where we can be apart

Slowly losing all of my sanity
There's no one left to save me

So cast out my broken soul
Cover me up in my six foot hole

For I lost my one and only love
He goes to the call of warplanes above

While he snatches away a piece of the mind
I struggle to hold Memory's hand
But the camoflauge suit and shiny combat boots
Create a soldier more than my man...

Do I measure up to what I really am?
Or am I a big bad wolf in disguise as a lamb?
Why do I hold onto old dreams
When all they cause are my anguished screams?

So lull me to sleep with your sad lullaby
Rock me to dream land and say goodbye
There I will go never to wake

then somehow i sprouted wings
and headed off to greater things
but little did i know that this is true,
