Is Race a Factor?

I recently read an article in the news, that stated they felt blacks and mexicans were the cause of the rise in crime going on in the U.S.

    What do you think?

Do you feel like someone is predisposed to crime because of their race?

    Or is it prejudice?

prejudece, well sort of. the media only chooses to cover the people of colors crimes. apparently white people dont make good news...

so true, so true. but there are as many white people who commit crimes as minorities. but they seem to get the rap, and the prejudice. is it fair? i think not. if you research all the serial killers, most were white. yet alot of society seems to "blame" those of another race.

Race Is Never a Factor, In The Words Of The Great Martin Luther King Jr. He Said That He Believed That We Should Be Judged By Our Character And The Contents Of Our Heart And Not By Our Skin Color Or Heritage, And I Agree There Is Equal Crime Rates In Every Race There Is, Race Does Not Determine Behavior....a Persons Character Does...And Because I'm Mixed With The Black And White Heritage I'm Always Offended By Racial Topics xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

I totally feel you. I also have a mixed race, but more important to me is, I have a child who is. this site i was at, totally pissed me off, because they were using such derogatory names for people of minority.

OMG. I Know what you are talking about. I, also dont look like my race. The thing is, people dont confront me about my race. Because it's not visible to them...it's not there. My son, however, looks black......skin color..not quite, but obvious features.
and i have recently come into CONFRONTATION with somone who treats him differently.

It would be nice if you could post the reference source of the article which alleged that blacks and Mexicans are the cause of rising crime.

No one is predisposed to crime solely because of their race. However, there may be a higher incidence of certain conditions among some minority groups in their homes and neighborhoods that lead to higher crime rates.
