Bob said it pretty damn well. It isn't as stupid as abortion. Truthfully, I find the idea absolutely repulsive. But I am not prejudice against homos, unless they are hitting on me of course. But truthfully, I didn't find that poem to be all too effective for pulling sympathy from me. Because today being homo is being accepted more and more. And it is just too damn long. Too many lines trying to pull pity in. If it were just a couple, like the first couple that have to do with teh private sector of society, and not the federal system I think it would be better. |

Ismail, you can accept somebody, and still not like what they do. Those are two entirely different things. I can't stand certain ways that my brother is, but i still love him. This is no different. I can find it repulsive too. That has nothing to do with acceptance. The original poster never said what they were looking for in response to this; they only posted it. I responded in a truthful way. There are things some of the people I know do that I think are retarded, perverted, whatever, but I still accept them. And yeah I get grossed out when another guy hits on me. Why? because I don't want to be hit on by other guys. Would you be grossed out if a great dane started humping your leg? |

ummm... I never said anything about judgement. I simply wrote about acceptance. Thinking something is disgusting is far from casting a moral judgement upon someone. |

I don't understand why this is a big deal to begin with. Don't we have a freedom of speech, freedom of thought and freedom of religion. No matter who you are, you shouldn't be judged for what you want out of life, and if you like the same sex, then nobody should mind. That's your own personal liking. I support the gay community, but only because I have to - other people have shut their doors and acted absolutely rediculous toward it, and now they need support. If everyone had accepted this thing, nobody would have to stand up for anyone, and this discussion wouldn't be needed. Judgement wouldn't be made, nor taken so seriously. It's not anyones place to decide if it's good/bad or right/wrong. I mean come on, are you a dog kind of person, or a cat kind of person? If I like cats does that make me so much different from everyone else that I have to be shut out? I know that's not a good example, but it just goes to show that all of this is only a difference in opinion and is being taken the wrong way. It doesn't matter if you like my choice, you should still be open to it and accept it - and hold no judgement of just how much you like it, because it's not your life nor your decision... Power to anyone who has the courage to stand up and be themself- at any cost, I'm behind you all the way. And to the rest of you, who seem to think that the world should run according to your thinking or your belief system, go screw yourself :) |

I say we are all just people. I know asking for world peace is like asking for comforatable five inch heals but jeez enough is enough. I don't think homosexuals should be treated at all differently than heterosexuals, nor woman from men, or white people to another race. I know people who call homosexuality a "virus" or something that they catch from being exposed to it, and can also cured. Which is just insane. People have been attracted to people of the same sex sence the beggining of time. A notable society that was very accepting was Ancient Greece, They did everything and anything because life was short. They arn't asking you to do what they do, so why should you have a problem with it? Dang I really wish I had a certain friend here, she's like a super expert on this... *sigh* sorry if I stopped making sence awile ago, I'm very tired. |

i give a donkey's rear end.......(hm it sounded bett in my head) my best friend is gay and the amount of stick he gets at school is appaling. i feel that homophobia is getting worse unlike most people in here, in england often when people are describing something bad they use the word 'gay'?? it's funny how teachers put up racism posters all around school and there hasn't been a racist 'incident' in all the time i have been there. and my friend has has been beaten up several times purely because he is gay and not even 1 anti homophobia poster is up. I have had to continualy stick up for my friend and that means having to fight on his behalf, comfort him when he gets verbal abuse even from the teachers. it makes me laugh when people say they are not homophobic but get all scared when they think they are going to get hit on by the same sex. it's pathetic, i am not disgusted by the thought of my friend hitting on me (i have a girlfriend and i am straight) however i know if he did it wouldn't be a big deal. i would say no and thats the end of it. being disgusted by homosexual behaviour is homophobic, there has been studies and they have shown that it is probable that the reason why people are gay is because of a gene the 'gay gene' thats like being disgusted by someone has blond hair or brown skin it's ludacrous |
