I was reading the other post to see the variety of religions we have on this site...very interesting I must add..I just am a bit confused of those who are more then one religion...for example..if you are both Christian and Muslum...how is that? Christains and Muslums don't worship the same people do they? Jesus Christ and Muhammed (sp?).....Please please dont take offense just confused on how you can be both...can you explain that to me? if not its ok..Im only 14 and stuff like that doesn't click right away sorry.....

also..if you don't have time for this its ok...but I was going to post another topic about Heaven and Hell....I was wondering if you'd mind telling me your thoughts about it...do you believe there is a Heaven and Hell? Why or Why not? What do you expect of it if you do?...something I saw on TV and was curious of other peoples opinions

May not be able to respond to all of you right away..but I will be reading every single answer you all give me!

Thanks so much for your time!

I believe in a heaven and a hell, that you get what you deserve when it's over. I don't really believe in hanging around in "limbo" if you didn't get baptized, or if you did. It doesn't really seem to have a point to me.
Yeah, that might not clear anything up, but I just felt like venting about it. Thanks for listening.

i'm christian because my parents had me baptised i can't take it back the minute the priest did the water thing i was a christian... it was my parents choice to make me christian. i will always be christian because of the baptism but i don't follow christians at all and believe mors pagan beliefs

so i'm christian neo-pagan druid (i chose to believe the neo-pagan druidry), but i am only christian because my parents had me baptised

as for the heaven and hell i don't really think there is one... could just be the rambles of a crazy guy i mean theres no proof that there is one. but i can't relly believe theres nothingness after death i mean our minds have to do something.

Like me, I'm Russian Orthodox. By baptism.
I don't like the religion, I have yet to believe in their customs and I think their churches are boring and filled with incense that makes me choke.
Maybe they aren't all like that, but so far they are and I don't believe in them.
I do believe in God. So by belief I am Christian.

Can someone tell me what being a druid means, or a pagan? Is it that you don't believe in God, or that you don't think he exists.

    Thanks.

Well I would like to think there is a heaven and hell cuz I don't like the idea of being nothing just cuz I happened to die, but I don't wanna be hanging around in the same place as Hilter, you know? I would want to think that our actions in this life meant something.

That makes sense Bob...but if you believe different concepts of different religions how can you call yourself one or the other.

I have mixed feelings about my religion. When I was younger I was forced to go to church by my father. When my parents split up it became a decision we were able to make on our own. I believe there is a God but I have a million questions. I believe there is a heaven and hell...or I'd like to believe there is but I question it. The thought of my family being in heaven comforts the pain of their passing but it's truly a hard thing to believe. I go back and forth with my family as I have strong Christians around me all the time. The type of Christians that preach on and on about their faith...I can listen and respect everyone's opinions but I question them all...I have a muslim friend who has taught me a bit about their religion and him being a faithful follower impresses me to no end. I think it's amazing. As far as my own beliefs....I'm just not sure. It's funny though because I pray all the time...

Brian: Being Baptised Dosen't Subject You To Any Religon, Although I'm Quite Pleased They Wanted You To Believe In Christianity....I Know Plenty Of People Who Were Baptised At a Very Young Age & Went On To Believe In Buddah, And Even Dealt Drugs, Baptisim Dosen't Make You Something You Don't Want To Be Necassirily, The Choice Is Still Yours Hun xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

Chels:I'm Not The Greatest Person To Ask When It Comes To Any Religon Other Than Christianity....But I Do Have a Muslim Friend, She Believes In The Same God Christians Did Except Their Concepts a Little Diffrent, They Believe Muhhamad Was What Most Christians See As "Jesus" And The See "Jesus" As Just Another Prophet In The Bible, Noone That Special.....I Hope I Didn't Confuse You Anymore Than You Are Already *Kisses* xoxo-Nikki-xoxo

"Christianity, Judaism, and Islam (Mulsims' religion) all believe in the same god,"

^muslims don't believe in the same God as christians and jews. muslims believe that Jesus is a prophet, not a god.

Brian and Truest: i'm not trying to start a fight here, or anything like that, but just because you're parents had you baptised does not mean that you are a Christian/Orthodox Russian. If you were baptised because you're parents wanted you to be, and you were too young to understand what was going on, or were only doing it to please them, then you didn't actually accept that faith as your own. Some people may disagree with me, but I don't believe in infant/child baptism, the person has to make the decision themselves. So, unless you actually accepted their teachings and beliefs, you are not a Christian/Orthodox Russian. Since you, Truest, believe in God and Jesus, then you are a Christian. Baptism doesn't make you a Christian, it is merely the first step of obedience one takes in following what Christ has said in the Bible. ok, that's all i got to say, if you want to respond, go ahead, just don't flame me. have a good day! ciao~lyn

I'm a christian and i just recently got baptised for the first time and i believe in God, Jesus, heaven and hell. But thats just me every1 else has the power to choose and believe in their own religion. Christianity just happens to be what i belive in. and no1 made me or forced me into beleving in God, and Jesus....My chose :)!.....(sorry 4 the horribly spelling)

From what i have learnt in RE A leval i would say that it isnt possible to believe in BOTH christianity and Islam... For the simple reason that although both believe in one God.. Muslims believe that the Qur'an is the LITERAL word of God given to Muhammad wheras the Bible is the interpreted word of God written many years after events and so is distorted and not God's real word... Also Muslims believe there was a Jesus (Isa).. but he was only a prophet and not God's son...

So i dont think it is rreeeally poosible to believe in both *thinks*

hmm on the heaven and hell thing its strange cos i do philosophy to and i can understand both the arguments for and against them.... I kinda like the whole idea of Reincarnation

    Interesting conversation

I'm wiccan by birth....i don't believe that there is a heaven or a hell....just that when we die we move onto another existence...or other planes of exsitence...i also believe that everyone has a reason that we are on earth and we just keep coming back til we find it....

Well, it seems that nothing has been said about the concepts
Of Bahai religion which are not really different.. So, I thought
you may like to hear this too.

Each and every prophet is light. Now, you tell, light is light.
    Can they differ?

light is good in whatsoever lamp it is burning. A rose is beautiful in whatsoever garden it may bloom. A star has the same radiance whether it shines from the East or from the West.

but still some people look at the lamps and say
    that religions are different.

    much love to all,

I was never baptised as a child, but still followed a Christian belief system. My immediate family are all atheists so religion was never forced upon me.

I started going to Church with a school friend. Initally I attended Sunday School at a local Methodist Church, where I was also in the Girls Brigade (Uniformed Christian Youth Group). After starting Secondary School I began to question my faith, not necessarily a bad thing as it made me think about what I wanted to believe in rather than what I had become acustomed to. I changed Churches, began following a CofE (Church of England) religion and joined the Church choir. Singing helped me to focus on my religion, even if only for the enjoyment I got from it!

I feel that baptism into Christianity, has in some parts of the world become much like having a birth certificate i.e. people do it through a feeling of obligation. Or even just to get the free party and cake! I know that sounds harsh, but it's true in some cases. I mean how many people who take their children to baptism actually believe in God? or have any intention of keeping the promises they supposedly commit to at these ceremonies i.e. regular worship?

A couple of years ago (aged 16) I decided to be baptised as a CofE Christian. I feel my baptism meant more because I had chosen to do it and fully understood my actions, unlike a newborn blissfully unaware. I don't attend Church except for Christmas, Easter and Scout Church Parades, because I chose not to.

So in Answer: I am a baptised CofE Christian but follow my own religious beliefs which may vary from the standard. Therefore I am a Nicolaist The great thing about my (Nicola religion) is I worship how, when and who I want to in a way that is comfortable to me!

I hope you all can do the same.

    Nicola
