senses leading you back to childhood

Taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing.

Give one or two examples (only) of how these senses often evoke childhood memories for you - when, as Gun's and Roses would have it, 'everything was as fresh as a bright blue sky' (or at least for some).

    Here are mine:

Taste: Billbury pudding and custard. Also HP brown sauce on chips (french fries).

Smell: Smoke from a coal fire.

Touch: The inner curve of walking stick handles: My dad was disabled and so I used to pass him his stick regularly. Also, drawing pins for some reason (ouch!).

Sight: Batman and Popeye cartoons on TV.

Hearing: The Beatles. Buzzers or horns that signal the end of a shift for a factory.

That's me. Now your turn. keep it to one or two examples per sense, if you know what I mean.

    That's mine....Lol.

    Taste: Warm delicious apple sauce!

Smell: Air conditioner air...i used to sit in front of the air conditioner letting the air blow directly in my face on a hot summers day and I have always loved the smell.

Touch: The feel of the monkey bars at the playground gripped in my hand. (I used to spend hours on those things.)

Sight: The front of the Mid-City Mall (a mini mall, near my house). I would pass it every morning as I walk to school and every afternoon on my way home.

Sound: slow r&b music. My mom and aunt played it all the time:)

Taste: Homemade ice cream, my dad would make it every summer

Smell: Honeysuckle, there used to be a vine in our backyard. When I smell it, I taste it as well because my mom showed me how to pull out the middle of it and lick the honey off of it.

Touch: Those thermal blankets that have the satin edge. I always hated using them cause the fabric would always hang on my finger nails while I was sleeping.

Sight: Big wheels, sit n spins, the house my Grandparents used to live in and the big slide at Creekmore park.

Sound: Any song by New Kids on the Block, those squeeky bicycle horns, and songs by Charlie Daniels Band, Randy Travis, Bellamy Brothers, and Bob Seger (my dad used to listen to those all the time).

    *Awesome thread by the way.
