Dictatorships rock. |

Ok I believe that we need a system that has one strong leader, lifetime sentence, because that BS about a eight - ten year term is stupid cause we will end up with a crappy president so when we get a good leader keep him. Also, what is all this crap about 'civil liberty' I mean I like liberty to people, but if it comes at the cost of national security then screw it. Also I am anti-communist, communism was the worst thing since democracy if not worse, a system where the people don't get a chance to improve their lives sucks, the genious' get no reward so they won't do the hard work, instead they will do something easy and get the same pay. So why would anyone do the vital dangerous jobs? Anyways, we need something right wing (not National Socialism, Hitler was a bad person and I'm German so I'm sick of being labelled a 'Nazi' because I speak some German) |

All forms of government have the ability to work and produce very good changes for man, on paper. What they all lack is the ability and necessity to take into account the human element. They refuse to acknowledge human will. Even if they did, they lack the ability to fully comprehend the extant to which the human will will take a man who believes he is being wronged somehow. |

yes I believe it was 30% that acually voted for Hitler, but yet he came to power as Chanceller, and then became 'Führer' (leader). But once he was in power he was able to use the system to make himself dictater for life (every four years there would be an 'election' that he mysteriously all ways won *cough* Schutzstaffel and Gestapo threatening the masses *cough*). The fact that Hitler could do that shows that there are flaws in the democratic system, but as in all governments there are flaws. But a flawed government is better then anarchy. |

actually people don't vote for the president, they vote for other people to vote for the president... |

Is Democracy Rubbish? |

OK I just want to say one thing, you are all stupid. I know what you are thinking so let me say something, I think it is ironic that all of you are bashing democracy, but were it not for democracy none of you would be able to say anything that you have said, I couldn't even have said that you were all stupid. It's democracy that lets you insult democracy, hay if you don't like democracy by all means move to China, or North Korea I'm sure they'll be happy to take you. |

Ok actually you're the stupid one. In non-democratic countries, you can say what you want as long as it is not talking bad about the country or the government. So if we were in a country that was Communist or National Socialist, then we could walk out in the street and yell "Democracy sucks!" and not be in the slightest trouble. But if we went out and said "Communist sucks!" or "National Socialism sucks!" then we would be thrown in prison. Second of China and North Korea would not take us, they would probably think we're spies or something. And in non-democratic states you are allowed to say stuff if it defends the state. |

OK lit I'm sorry I accused you of bashing democracy, I must of misunderstood you, and you Alex, you clearly misunderstood me, you see my point was that only in a democratic nation can you insult your own government, oh and by the way I know what would happen if you moved to China, or North Korea. Hope that helped to prove my point, if not just ask. I’m sorry for being so rash with all of you on my earlier post; I was tired and I get mad easily whenever I hear people making fun of a major step forward in becoming free, even if it is flawed a little. |

It doesn't matter how many steps we take, all freedom is gained by the oppression of another, whether that oppression is real or imagioned, because people will believe anything to be the victem, to believe they were wronged and thus have a 'case' with which to try to make their life better. Also human nature is greedy, and people will always oppress others to make themselves more comfortable and rich. All systems suck, I mean no offense these are my views and as you just said, this is America and I can say what I want :) |

Democracy is awesome. |

Democracy is not awesome no government is awesome, but it is better than anarchy. And by the way Communism sucks, capitalism benefits those who work for themselves, as it should be. But Communism just gives to everyone. It isn't right I could just sit on my rear all day and get paid, the state would go bankrupt (like what happened to the USSR in the cold war) and then you might get anarchy or something so right wing that you're the new Nazi Germany. |

Lit = I agree. I think business and government should be separate. kind of a capitalist belief, le sigh. the problem with capitalism is it doesn't need to be compassionate unless it suits them, and I don't trust politicians at all, so, I think government should require compassion. and I mean real compassion. not just some political buzzword. |

In some ways I do think capitalism is bad, we should not need healthcare, it should not cost money to use a hospital "right, I'm bleeding to death, so I'm going to go do a months worth of work so I can get surgery" And funerals shouldn't cost the relatives of the newly deceased. But capitalism is essential (even if the above is kind of stupid) in that better goods are made. If I own a computer store, I try to make better computers so people buy mine, not the ones across the way. So therefore I try to make mine advanced. If it was not for capitalism, the computer would be the size of a room still, and this site would be exclusive to the very rich at best, and at worst non-existant. |
