Keep in mind that if your room is a small room, then darker colors will make it look even smaller. If you like to write, why don't you paint the room white, and then why you feel inspired write the lyric on the wall, or have your friends "sign" your wall. So you can allways look around and see what you or someone else has wrote.

What colors are you thinking? Madison has a great idea, it'll be original and different (but only if your folks won't freak). Plus you can always get a black rug and or curtains. I dunno. good luck

My sister has painted her walls different pale colours. White, lilac, etc. then she got all her letters shes written to her friends, pages from magazines, photos and posters and stuff and stuck them all on the wall and it looks soooooo cool

That always looks tacky unless you're professional. Don't do it. Too amateur.

lol yes that tis be a point....im getting a new house...and i like black and light purple.....so im painting my whole room light purple with black bedding...cause i dont want it looking like im some weird phyco maniac so what im trying to say is think of your two favorite colors and put the lightest one as your wall colors and pick your dark one as an accent

Paint the wall blood red and then have a black line circling the room about waist high. ceiling blood red. Then graffiti the walls with marker and spray paint. Put up a few posters, a few roadsigns, you can find alot of them next to streets. There you go, dark room, happy graffiti, cool posters, and horrid traffic conditions on the outside :D

Something fun that you could do is take two colors (like black and red) and make three inch stripes going up and down. I've seen it before and it looked awesome.

Pick two contrasting colours (Red and Green, Orange and Blue, Purple and Yellow are a few) and create a pattern kind of thing on your wall. For example, have diagonal wavy lines going around your room, and matching furnature and things to go with it. My friend has that done and it looks great.

My room is Lime Green and Bright Blue, I don't know if that'd be too bright for your taste, but I think, when done right, its fun!

I think Talandor's idea is awesome, I'd love to actually see it done sometime!

how bout you paint your ceiling black and stick some of those glow-in-the-dark stars on there and do the walls two different shades of your favorite color?

i think you should paint it lighter colors, b/c darker colors make the room look smaller, but if you do choose to do a dark color then i suggest going over it w/ white sponge painting
