What would you suggest?

I am going to my senior prom on May 12 and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what kind of dress I should buy (ie. color, style, etc.)

Yeah maybe...if I wore something from like 50 yrs ago...but nice suggestion.

I got my dress. It is a long black dress with purple and silver sparkles on it. It is a spaghetti strap dress.

My advice is buy something you can wear again to another big day like a wedding or christaning or the like...black is good you can never go wrong with a lil black dress and you can always use it again and get your moneys worth as it can be dressed either up or down with accessories :o)

Nah, I kind of disagree with buying something you can wear again...
It's your PROM, go all out, anything that makes you feel like your the prettiest one there...

Don't worry about "Is this Practical? Is this a waste of money?"

Wear a flashy colored dress, like lime green or a mint green. I have a dress like that and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Victorian and black. True beauty. Though if you want fashion look at your skin colour and your personal style eye and hair colour and make the decision that way.

But from experience I have four $300 + dresses sitting in my closet I have never and will never wear again I look back now and think Shivers! Shoulda bought something more worth my dollar...

My dress was only $50 and I absoutely love it. It is something I think will be great for a prom. I mean it does look like I went all out and stuff, yet I think I can also wear it on other occasions if I so chose.
