Still So Young And Desperate Foe Attention

Ok so I am just mind blown, I don't understand people, even my peers, sometimes. There is a girl in my school who is pregnant, and has been since last year, her baby is due in a month and people are giving her attention off the wall, so another girl in my school decides its not fair for her to get all of the attention and makes up a story about how she is pregnant too...This was a mistake becase she is a Freshman and most people just called her a slut, so now she is telling everyone she made it up.

Why would you be that desperate for attention? Do people have no brains anymore?

Personally I'm different from a lot of people. I often wish I were invisible so that nobody could see me, and no attention would be snagged my way...

However I think for teens (especially anyway) they want to feel a part of something and know that they have some importance- or something like that- and even if it's with something as simple as attention grabbing, plenty of us teens do it.

Even peer pressure and fitting in works that way. Nobody wants to be the loser in the crowd. They want to be cool, have authority, be respected... It's weird how they think they'll get that from being cool - but it's sad that sometimes they do get all that and much more.

*sigh* Once again I'm reminded why I'm so damn anti social. lol.

Maybe she feels ignored at home? It's hard to say, but it's sad that someone would lie about being pregnant just for attention.

Atleast she hadn't actually became pregnant so she could get some attentoin. She proably felt neglected. Lonelyness can drive a person insane, and jelousy is also quite bad.

I feel people now a days are becoming beyond clueless! When I was in grade 9, my best friend claimed she was pregnant to get this guys attention, think she'll do anything sexually. Later, everyone started calling her a slut. She said she got an abortion, and was still seeing 25 year old guy. Eventually, her and I got in a fight, cause I was getting sick of her lying, then she said I was pregnany, and she never was, but I made it up. It was so immature!!! I never made it an issue. I pretty much ignored it. Its been three years, and appearently, I am still pregnant. Like, hole sh!t. People are getting dumder, and dumber. A lot or people now a days are so full of themselves, and think of nothing but themselves. It is truely sad how our world and people are turning out. It seems to me each generation people get selfisher, and selfisher, until they lose something precious of theirs, and realize at that moment, what they had and lost. It really is a shame.

Well, when she's taking care of a child at home, changing diapers, feeding, waking up at 3 a.m. to take care of it, she'll see who needs the attention then.

My brother has an 8th grader in his school who just got an abortion, so apparently, some people are responsible enough to have sex, but not responsible enough to take care of the child.

Whether they do it for rebellion, guys, or popularity, it's still attention, it's still not going to stop.

In high school and simply in society today, influence is the number one factor downfalling students' lives. Peer-pressure and other things basically make up the minds of such people who are vulnerable to the outside world. I know for a fact that desperation for attention, popularity and such will never stop; in fact it may only get worse. Society, T.V shows, media, and famous people are the main ones to blame...hey what can we do. I see no hope left in the younger generation these days, and I even linger amongst them.

When I was in 7th a girl in my grade had a baby. Its sad, girls will do anything for guys who treat them like crap anyway. I find it pathetic that most guys only pay attention to girls that dress like sl*ts but what can you do? As for the girl with the baby, its her choice, i don't know her therefore i can't make any judgements. The girls who made it up, whatever, if she wants to come across as that type of person let her. Its not like guys don't lie about how much they've gotten/done anyway. But thats just my opinion.

The bottom line is that people want to feel important.

In her eyes, Attention seeking seems to be the answer to all that, makes her feel important by everyone talking about her. However I have to say, most guys notice attention seekers more than the quieter alternatives...

I just don't understand it.. but people will always want to feel important..
