I don't know I could be alone but writing is therapudic- it's my therapist- I pretend my paper is the couch and my pen the "man in the suit" helping me address my problems. So my poetry is personal and blaa and it's about my life and all the things that happen to me- and I'm wondering if anyone is ever afraid to post poems about their personal life and relationships. In fear of that person or people reading it or hearing of it- or even people who know those people looking at it? |

Well my dad threatens to read my poems (though he hasn't yet) so I have to be careful what I write because I just got of of the loony bin and don't have any interest in being back there again. |

I actually try keeping my poetry as secretive as possible for many reasons. My parents barely know I write, or half the time even know what I am doing. They are absorbed in their own business. Still, my poetry is a reflection of my most deepest inner feelings, and like a diary, I don't wish to have anyone I know reading it. There are a few exceptions to friends, but on a wide-scale I am always afraid of those I know reading my poetry...because they might look at it as a kind of bogus. No one would understand where poetry is coming from, except the poet themselves. So, overall really, you are not the only one scared of those reading your work. Try changing your name to a pen name...(A name used for writing) It's really the best method to be on the safe side. |
