Well, Personally I would say no...you don't create the social skills that you need for the work enviornment. Yes, you can graduate with a GED, But I think it is better if you get a High School diploma.

I agree with Joe. Go all the way. Someday when you have kids, and they say, did you finish high school, say "Yeah, I went all the way and stuck with it."

    So many kids drop out.

    Don't make negative statistics.

Coming from a person who was expelled, Then given two more chances to try at school, And then dropped out completely. Don't do it.

I'm 17 in july, I havn't finished my year ten. I have no future because I dropped out. So don't do it. It's not worth it, Trust me.

And with Ken's post, It's true. If you're lucky you might get a job at some fast food place. I can't even get a job there. I don't have a job, Cause no one will hire me cause I was expelled, And dropped out twice, And didn't finish school. So don't drop out. Really, Dont do it.

What are you learning at school that you need to learn?

I'm not advocating you drop out...but some of the most interesting and successful people I know left school as early as possible and went their own way. If plan on following the standard, college, Univercity route..then stick with it.

I left early and I'm doing great..exactly what I want to do....

I'm facing my last year, and considering it- so I know exactly what you mean- I don't want my parents to look at me as a failure or think they have failed as a parent- but at the end of the day, it's what you want out of life and how bad you want it. Your parents aren't going to help live your life, so they really shouldn't be a factor in the decision. If what you want in life doesn't require knowing what happened hundreds of years ago, why do you need to learn it?

Kevin: Thats true. Theres alot of successful people who left school at a early age, And are very successful and so forth.

But.. If she was to leave school now. What if she changes her mind about the kind of carear she'd want. It's not that easy to drop out of school, And then after a few years go back and find it easy. She's better off staying in school, Doing as much as she can. I'm actually starting a program soon so I can finish school.. But.. I have to start with Year 7 work. Which is the first year of highschool. I have so much I need to catch up on, Year 7, Year 8, And fully do year 9 again because I failed that, Do my year ten again because I was expelled that year. And then hopefully do my last two years, 11 & 12. So, She should stay. Thats just my opinion.

By the way.. I posted here earlier.. .x.Natalie - I write sins, Not

I read above that you wanted to be home-schooled... I am home-schooled and I HATE it! All my life I've been home schooled and right about now I would kill to have my parents let me go to school! Let me tell you about home schooling. First off your parents become your new teachers! There becomes really no family life and really just SCHOOL! Because your parents are in charge of it and they're constantly be harping on you about it. And then sometimes you can't play sports for your school, you socialize as much, you'll most likely get in tuns of fights with your parents, and all in all it's not the best idea. At the end of the year you have to go and find ALLLLL of the school work u did through the year... EVERY LAST PAPER and put it in a huge folder for someone to look at, and from that folder they decide if you pass or not! If I were you I’d either stay in school or go to Cyber School.

Personally, I think you shouldnt drop out of highschool. Getting an education is one of the most important things in life. There are so many more opportunities out there ofr you if you have a diploma. You can make up to 15,000 dollars more just becuase you completed highschool. I absoloutley despise school, but I believe that if I just get it over with, it will be totally worth it in the end.
