My heart races
When I see your smile

13 Goodbye---

She watches as they slowly, lower the casket,
Wishing she had never told him to take that shortcut.
If it wasn't for her yelling, he'd still be alive,
As she goes back into her memory archive.

Back in high school, when they first met,
He asked her out, because it was a bet.
Then he realized, money didn't matter,
He didn't care who knew, for he loved her.

They were only freshman, yet madly in love,
They had maturity far up and above-
the rest. Then at 18, he popped the question,
"Will you marry me", and "yes" was her reaction.

Now she cries, after 5 years of marriage,
She wishes more than anything to give him one last message.
That's she sorry, and she loves him more than anything,
She will miss him, and don't worry, he'll always mean something.

The priest then states, "He died in a car,
As he, and his wife, drove to the local bar.
She said, take a shortcut, because it's getting late,
Because tonight was special, since their child, their first date.

A drunk from the bar, must've not seen them,
Because he hit the car, and the car went in flames in mayhem.
Luckily for us, the wife got away,
As we can see, he didn't, that's why were here today."

He says a little pray now, as all throw in roses,
As in his coffin, he enternally snoozes.
All the guest go home, except for his wife,
She says goodbye, he was the love of her life.

"Goodbye, my darling Husband, I've known you so long,
I'm sorry that this happened, I was so wrong.
I'll really miss you, I'll never forget about you,
Goodbye honey, I know you love me too."

Cutting through her sorrows,
The razor becomes another enemy,
Burning in remorse,
Her eyes slowly shutting,
Another petal falls from the rose...

Melodies of his soothing voice,
Drowns out her fears,
Never able to realize the pain yet to come,
Tears shimmer down her face,
As another petal falls from the rose...

Remembering all the smiles,
As he promised he'd never leave,
Gone from her life with no regrets,
Another cut appears,
As another petal falls from the rose...

Unable to see the truths,
Not willing to hear his good-byes,
Her heart breaking to the silence,
Another cut appears,

Her body lay suffering,
As her scars are now noticeable,
Her life ending,
As the black rose lays there in solitude...

Dry Tears (#19)

A gray sheet turning the sky into an ultimate expression
People whispering without the slightest discretion
Huddled crouds trying to catch the light
In one small house, you can hear two people fight

Mama and Papa screaming and hollering
A little girl covering her ears, no sense of belonging
A click of the shutters as the day turns black
Baby brother doesn't know the burden on his back

The parents argue, a flight of fists
Little girl wishes she didn't remember this
Her parents heavy drinkers, she can hear slurring words
A thousandth beer on the wall, brown glass on the floor

At 2 a.m. the house turns quiet
The lights click off and the door shuts
Hearing a screech of the gas pedal
A squeal of tires and they're gone

Mama cries, she doesn't remember
Her wrists tied with barbed wire to the bed
A bruised face and punched mouth
Her baby's almost dead

Baby brother has a bag
Wrapped around his head
Tied feet and hands
Circulation cut with thin thread

Sister is on the ground, blood just barely staying in
Bruises, cuts and batters decorating her skin
Daddy was drunk, he knew better
But the crime he made was sin

Little girl remembers sitting in mommy's lap
With little brother smiling
Laughing a first-tooth laugh
A memory she'll always treasure

Reaching the night stand
She reaches slowly and knocks off the phone
Small fingers punch 3 digits
Holding tightly with a trembling hand

She wakes up in a white room
People tell her that daddy won't hurt her here
She simply shakes her head
Crying out in fear

"Where is everyone?" she cries
They all comfort her with lies
She answers with tears in her eyes,
"I never got to say goodbye"

That little girl lives with a sad memory
Knowing little of reality
The little girl who was found
And had a second chance

She and others
Live with fosters
But in better homes than what they had
She will never again be hurt by her mom or dad

Years later, staring at her body
She is glad to be alive
God answered her dry tears
He did not let her die

So I write it on paper hoping one day,
You'll finally be able to see my true feelings.
Maybe then I'll know what to say

For now I'm at a stumble for words.
I want to tell you how special you are.
But my words would only get lost.
Because your soul is so far

There are days could've last forever.
Times that I'll never forget.
I just don't understand,
Why you're so filled with regret?

What's done is done, its history,
You can never take it back.
I can't ever say you were a mistake.
You were an exception and thats a fact.

I don't want to hear a single word.
I know what you want to say...
But go ahead destroy my reality.
Set free the lie I live with each day.

So I'll give up on you, I'll give up on us.
I'll take it all, all the pain and grief.
It's not about you, its about me now,
Hopefully with closure comes great relief.

But maybe I'm just kidding myself.
Maybe I'm too scared to face pain,
But all of that will be lost,
Just like tears in the rain.

#20 In This rain

Now that winters have come again
i feel so deserted in this rain

these diamonds of sorrow fall right on my face
reminding me your blazing touch
and how deep i was in your beauty's maze
without knowing you so much

dreaming in between every thunder
if i would have had just one more chance
to say i am sorry, now i wonder
if ever again in this rain we will dance

i wonder why i have been so insane
now that winters have come again
i feel so deserted in this rain

7. Burning eyes.

my eyes burn at the thought of you
the farther away you get the more i hurt
you body pierces my eyes like a dart
forcing me to feel the pain of longing

your eyes harsh and a cold
pour fire into my eyes
the tears that i try to hold back
roll down my face in a cascade

as our song play on the radio
cd or the stereo
i feel my heart clench
and jump to hit me behind the eyes

i dont know if i love you
or just feel desire
keep going and ignore
the burning of my eyes

~Years Flown By (10)~

A relationship bound by the court,
two parents yearning to abort.
One child's postpartum deport,
a life, from the start, out of sorts.

The help of two elders, they sought,
a custody battle, never fought.
Drug addict parents, got caught,
important lessons, never taught.

A baby that was left behind,
consequences of a legal bind.
A lifestyle of a different kind,
viewpoints from a distorted mind.

A family separated by years in time,
a life with a different rhythm and rhyme.
Two people, making up for another's crime,
always living off of their last dime.

A difficult situation from the start,
a unique picture, of an unpopular art.
A family, nearly torn apart,
two grandparents, certainly, off the charts.

An unwanted boy, now full grown,
held together by seams, left un-sewn.
Approaching life with a whole different tone,
hoping, some day, to live life on his own.

#5 The white girl.

Never noticed how pale she was,
until that very day.
When she sat upon the swing,
she gently began to sway.

Telling me about her past,
how she had lived her life.
She told me how her parents,
had caused her so much strife.

As I sat and listened so carefully,
I could'nt help but to stare.
Her skin, it had no colour,
In her eyes, there was not a flare.

She told me how they'd hit her,
even broken her arm.
How could her parents be so cruel,
Relish in causing her harm.

My eye's they felt now so teary,
As so far, for her, life wasn't good,
The little girl looked yet so tiny,
her parents had starved her of food.

I asked if she still lived at home now,
her head tilted down to the floor,
Its okay no one can hurt me,
In hell, I live there no more.

I asked " why so sad your reaction,
happy is what you should be",
"Well my home is much different than others,
Its a place called heaven you see".

The hairs on my skin stood so tall now,
I stood from the swing where I'd been.
How could I've been so stupid,
Around her I'd felt so serene.

My mum called and said "time for dinner",
As I looked round and told her "alright".
As I stared at the swing that lay empty,
Where the little girl had sat all in white.

Lay upon morning grass
Watch baby clouds fly by

#16 Merry Chirstmas

Christmas morning she gets out of bed
Christmas morning she finds mommy dead
she screams and runs
she sees daddy
he tells her not to say anything
so she doesn't

years have past she still hasn't said a word about that Christmas morning..
but shes all grown up now
she wants revenge for her moms murder
it is Christmas shes at the door

Her dads says come inside take seat
all she dose is stares..
she walks in and locks the door
covers her dads mouth to stop his scream
she slits his throat..
covers her tracks..

she has finally had avenged her moms murder with one of her own..

the cops never found her out
but she turned her self in
she was completely satisfied with her self..
never once had a doubt..

she had her revenge on Christmas morning..
