Helloooo....I wanted to share something with everyone, but I'm nice and will warn you if you dont feel like reading, dont read it might end up a lil long, but I'd appreciate if you'd hear this story

About six years ago, my mom worked in a public school library...real ghetto school, ....so she was a librarian and one day some girl came down with some books from her class and my mom is very friendly talkative person so she is like "Hello hunny how are you? What grade are you in?" and the girl replied "sixth" well I dont know what its like where you all live but here we go to sixth grade camp...couple day camping trip with your class...anyways my mom said "Are you looking forward to going to camp?" and the girl said "Not really" and my mom says "how come?"....:( she said "I dont have many friends".....well my mom is a Strong believer in the Lord and all of a sudden she just felt it heavy on her heart to help this girl out...so my mom said you know what...I'll take you shopping to get your supplies and everything you need...the girl had a great time! So she became really close to my mom and would sometimes come and eat lunch with her and I dont know how the bond happened but it did...

We came to find out she was in slow classes...she was "mentally hanicap" but really...just slower then people her age...Her family just treated her awfully and called her retarded and my mom would just show her love and care and the girl just loved it...well when she was in about maybe 9th grade....my mom still picked her up and she'd come over and swim go shopping, play cards, she just loved my mom! She stayed over one night and I had a bunk bed at the time...she was on the bottom and I actually slept on the floor (dont ask why I was so young haha) anyways in the middle of the night she made this strange noise..now if you ask me I thought it sounded like metal falling on metal....her name is Demetria and we call her "Meechi" and I was like "Meechi Meechi your snoring girl" and she wouldn't stop...so I got spooked and ran to get my dad and he tried wakeing her up then my mom got up and FLIPPED OUT you all dont know my mama she gets so scared...so we called 911 and she had a ceizure

    Wow it cut me off

ANyways.. she was born a ciezure baby but shes alright now still slow
What I was trying to get across in this..is that if you know someone who is handicap or something....dont doubt them...Demetria is graduating on Tuesday and I'm so proud of her! No on thought she would but with my moms help in studying and buying her the things she needed...she made it!!!!

that is sooooooooooooooooooooooo sad. touching though. It's GREAT that your mom would do something like that for her. and then she had a ceizure, is she all right? at any rate, hope she's ok.

Chelsey I'm so glad that you posted this. It's good to know that there's other people who appreciate how amazing they can be.

I was a Peer Tutor at my school this year (it's when you help handicapped/disabled students) and I learned so much about them. They are sweeter than anyone I know, and they are so much smarter than others think.

That's a really inspiring story Chels. Your mom is an angel. She took that girl under her 'wings' and cared for her. Something her parents didn't really do well. And I'm sure you did a great job of being a supportive 'sister' to this girl. Wow, what an inspiring start for a Monday morning at work.
