PMS... title says it all

I don't think I have ever seen a topic on here about pms. I know I've seen some weird random stuff, but never that.

So my question is, when you are pmsing do you use that as an excuse if you get really mad at someone? I only use it as an excuse if my dad is annoying me I'll shout "I'm pmsing" and he'll say okay and leave... it's actually pretty funny.

And... I was wondering what pain reliver works best to get rid of cramps? So far I've tried tylnon, advil, and motrin but they don't really work. Or it takes them over 3 hours to work. So what works the best?

i don't use PMS as an excuse for getting mad.
My friends can usually tell when I am pmsing because i get mad, and thats not often.

and as for pain relievers, i havent a clue but let me know what you find out, i'd like to know

Ah, there is those few occassions that I do use it as an excuse, not for being mad but for anything, for example:

Mom: Let's go to grandma's today.

    Me:I'm PMSing.

My friend's mom told me (heh I know that sounds funny) but she used to lie on the floor on her stomach and put a pillow just under her tummy. She said it helped.

    I don't know if I PMS...

I've had cramps though, and maybe it was my imagination, but around the time I was having my period I was feeling a bit cry-ey once... but, that could have been due to something else.
I take tea, a hot water-bottle and sitting still in bed for serious cramps. The rest... grin and bear it, I guess.

AHHAHAHAHA!!!! i know exactly what you mean. most of my poetry comes out of PMS. and i use it as an excuse for when im really really upset about something else.

but sometimes my friends see right through it.

as for pain relievers. MIDOL. best medicine ever made. and that Pamprin Max crap is supposed to work too. but for me Midol works the best and i get cramps to the point where im throwing up and crying and i cant move.

    Oh, it's horrible :(

Try taking Ibuprofen, that stuff usually kicks in about 15 minutes after I take it.

And Nikki, if the guys are going to read a thread where the title says "PMS" right in it, then they're asking for it lol.

Okay Jordan we'll definetly get right one that :p.
I do have 1 really embarassing story... not sure if it's funny but I'll share for your entertainment.

Well one day last year I woke up for school and got my period. And I ran out of tampons so I had to wear 2 pads together. Well half way through the day I had chorus and I was sitting down and I felt someone pull down my shirt. And I wasn't sure why so I turned around and my friend said "Trust me, I'm helping you". I got really mad when she said that becuase the girl next to her was laughing, and she never told em why she did it. Well when I went home I sat down in a chair, and felt a breeze on my back. So I checked in the mirror where my shirt was and saw that my shirt went too far up so my underwear was showing and my pad was showing.

I have a story… It was during the school year, and was off to track practice. I had only put so many pads in my backpack, and I had used them all, so I’d be stuck with the same one from lunch (around noon) until I got home (so I walk, and that’d make it around 5:30 when I got home). It was one of our many, many, many two-hour practices, and of coarse after a while I really need a new pad… I don’t have one, so I just adjust the one I have the best I can so my underwear won’t be ruined and I’ll be comfortable. It was a pad with wings, and the wing wasn’t sticking anymore!! The coach was getting fed up with me whining, and that wing was rubbing off my skin so it hurt to move my leg. The coach I’m talking about was indeed a girl coach, and she was NOT sympathetic at all, so after requesting a few bathroom breaks I decided not to bother her… I think at one point I did attempt to rip off the wing, I believe that just made it worse.

I had a nice round-ish, big area of plastic-rubbed off skin for the next few days on my inner upper thigh… Hurt to sit in certain positions, and I really didn’t like that coach.

    Story done!!!

I get pre cramps, but usually don't get them during... I'm deffently more irritable, and stuff, but I still don't bite peoples heads off.

^^ ouch. that happened to me a few times too... the wing coming off. and i have days where i completely space on bringing pads... and i have to go around all my friends and the whole cafeteria at lunch asking my friends if they have one!!! they almost always do.

but one time i had to buy one from the school nurse... she charges for pads even though the SCHOOL supplies them. uggh.

and YESH the hot pad thing works!! shes talking about Thermacare heating pads. they have a bunch of different kinds... but the cramp ones last for 8 hours and they work sooo well!

No, I don't use PMS as an excuse and for medicines I would go to the pharmacy and ask what they have for cramps because I know there are some specifically for cramping when woman start getting there period... I also got this email saying that banana's help...but I don't know, other wise you can just suck it up.

If I could "just suck it up" I wouldn't have asked for opinions. I did end up finding something that works a little better then ibuporfen though. I can't remember what it is right now though.

~ I always take Tylenol, if I absolutely have to, but usually if I go outside and walk around a while, presto!!! no more cramps!! I know that it's a little painful to walk around at first but after just a minute, I'm good as new. It's kinda like when your sore from working out, the only way to help it is to keep working out. Trust me, it works!!

  • MemoirsOfMe

I take Advil Liquid Gels. They get in your system fast, and work great. But everyones bodies are different to certain medication, you just have to find the right one.

If you don't mind spending money, there are special liquid Remedies from China. Look it up on Google or something, but you can get them shipped from China. It lasts maybe for 10 doses, but works perfectly. My friend does it... but it works great. Expensive, but worth it if you have bad cramps.
