^^I've drunk a lot of herbal tea with honey lately, and this nasty cough that I had is much, much better... it's also good to put as a sweetener in yoghurt, and also in cakes or desserts.

By The Way scientists have proved that getting pimples has NOTHING to do with chocolate, and/or the amont of sugar you eat, its to do with your skin, and its condition, also if you get strressed/upset alot that will also open up your pours! ... just some help :)

Hey, thanks... but unfortunately I have a feeling that food affects your face. When I cut out all sugars and starches for a few months, my pimples cleared up completely.
My theory is that your skin eliminates what your organs and blood can't... through pimples.
It could also have been because with less sugar I felt a whole lot better, and was much, much happier, and consequently less nervous, angry, depressed, etc, which helped my skin.

That could be true, too. Your body is affected by everything you eat, good or bad. However you'd have to eat A TON of chocolate to get pimples.

Believe It Or Not....There Are Actually Good Sugar Substitutes That Taste Really Natural, Like At Lubys There Is Really Good Cakes And Pies Thats With "EQUAL" And It Takes Just Like a Normal Cake Or Pie Would....The Only Way I Would Stop My Total Sugar Intake Is If I Had Something Eqauly As Satisfying To Replace The Flavor

^^Sure, welcome. If you have any ideas for names for this club, go ahead and make suggestions...
Oh, um, okay, if you don't mind, everyone say their age, height, weight, and why they want to be healthier, thinner, etc.

I'm 13, 1.63 (think, which is about 5'5) and I weigh 54 kilos the last time I checked.
I want to be healthier so that my face looks slimmer, and also so that my pimples go away. I dance flamenco, and in all the shows the dresses are really open at the back, revealing my terrible skin.
That used to be fine because the lights are so bright nobody sees skin blemishes very well, but now we're starting to do more shows in places without lights...
I have pretty low self-esteem because boys don't seem to look me, the few that I know don't really notice me. But I know that above all, I have to do this for myself :)

cutting out sugar makes you healthier? or helps you lose weight?

^ 111lbs is the weight you're supposed to be at for your height. If you go any lower, you will be underweight. Be careful. People who want to lose weight, need to know when to stop. ^ Cutting out sugar completely, is not very healthy. Your body actually needs some sugars. Cutting out unhealthy sugars, like in soda, will make you a lot healthier. Losing weight has nothing to do with the food you eat, more so it does the portion you eat. Ofcourse, eating junk food constantly won't help, but if you treat yourself once and a while, you can still lose, or maintain weight. I personally could never cut out ice cream, or hot cocoa, or even reese's, but i don't eat them constantly.

It all depends on your body frame. Some people may be skinny but still weigh more than you think, because of muscle. It's basically impossible to avoid every sugar out there. I cut out sugar as in sweets; chocolates, candies, ice cream and stuff like that, but I let myself have a treat once a week, usually on friday afternoon, and I still eat the sugar that's in regular food, like yogurt, milk, etc but I try to fidn the lowest sugar content that I can. Some people tell you to watch the amount of fruit that you eat because of the natural sugar, but don't let that inhibit you from eating your fill of it. It's natural and it's a good source of energy. It also has anitoxidants, vitamins, and tastes really goodi n place of candy. I noticed that on the third week that I gave up sugar on my treat day I had a hot chocolate, and I got so sick from it. Today is actually my treat day but I can't touch it because at the moment I am sickened by the thought of it.

Don't always go by what you're told when it comes to weight either. If someone tells you that you should be a certain weight without actually examining you, chances are that they are wrong because they are just going by general assumptions which doesn't always 'fit' everybody. Pardon the pun. Personally, I'd rather be 10-15 pounds over and healthy, than be skinny and not healthy. And if you want to lose weight, do it slow.

^ Sorry about that comment, it's just that my cousin is 5'4" and 110lbs, and she seems too skinny. Then my other cousin is 5'2" and 97 lbs. I get worried about other peoples health because of that. Not to mention my own health. I just think everyone should be happy being a fit and healthy size. There are so many teens out there that want to be really skinny because they think they will be more attractive and feel better about themselves, but they're wrong. Sometimes no matter how skinny you get, you have a problem with your body image, and that's when the eating disorders start. My point is that losing a few pounds by a healthy diet and exercise, then gaining musle as well should make people happy. Being toned is better then being twigy. It's good to hear you don't cut sweets out completely :D. Everyone needs a treat once and a while..

In answer to Esther's question, cutting out, or down on sugar, will both improve your health and, just as a bonus, influence any extra pounds off. I suggest making your goal something more healthy, like, less pimples (in my case) less cellulite, stretch-marks, tone up that odd extra tire, etc. Bodybuilder women, which in my opinion are the fittest, beautifulest women that exist, can actually weigh more than the average woman, because muscle weighs a lot more than fat. That is why ballerinas are not encouraged, or prohibited, from lifting weights, as with heavy muscle, although they will definitely look nicer, be healthy and a whole lot stronger, their partner will have a harder time lifting them... of course, male dancers should also be encouraged a whole lot more to lift weights. In my experience with the Chilean ballet theater, most of the girls are borderline anorexic and the boys are weaklings. My point is that weight isn't everything, in fact, is hardly anything. Sure, you can use it as a basic outline, but you have to search further than the bathroom scale to find beauty, health, and fitness.
