Ever since that tragedy, 1000's of American Soldiers have been sent to die in a war for oil.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Sept 11 families, as well as for the victims of the 'oil war' families.
Plus all the innocent Iraqi families that had to endure an illegal invasion on their sovereign nation.

    God Bless the WORLD

No offence to those that are effected by 911, practically everyone was is some way or another.
But I honestly think that people should get over it, yes it was a terrible tradegy, but going back to the thoughts brings back the pain, and the anger.
I also think that the way the Bush Administration is dealing with the war on terrorism is rediculous, Bush's first priority is the military, when it should be something like GUN CONTROL, seriously, go and watch BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE, and you will agree with me on that.

    RIP 911

^ I agree (about the last part)

I wish the families that were directly effected by it all the best of luck.
I think that we shouldn't even be at war right now. What we went over there to do is done, so we should just stop the war now. And focus on what's going on in our own country.

wow, way to revive dead threads.

the "war" on terrorism and the war in Iraq are two seperate things
the war on terrorism is a tactic, or it should be, for investigating terrorist organizations, the war in Iraq...actually, to be honest, I have no fucking clue what the war in Iraq is for.

Iraq is a place for terrorists to convene and stick it to the man.

    President Dead-

People DIED in that... people who were loved... children, wives, husbands, parents. The families of those people are NEVER going to "get over it". They're gonna look back on that every day of their lives, remembering the terrorism that cost their families lives... these people are gonna be angry for a long time, and there is no way they can stop thinking about it...

show a little more respect please. seriously.

"9/11 was one of the worst days of my life"
Honesty, honestly? How did it affect you? How can you say it did unless you lost someone in those attacks? You can feel sad and devastated by such a tragedy, and maybe become more paranoid, less trusting because of it (if you already have a predisposition to paranoia), and you can point back to 9/11 as being the cause of other problems today...but, "The worst day of your life?" Okay, say it with me, your life is not what you see on television. It is no measure of selflessness to seemingly identify with the problems of people you do not know, and cannot possibly understand.

  • Heather

Seriously how do you know what people "cannot possibly understand"? You can't, you just can't. You can't tell anyone what the do or do not know. Yeah there is a chance that they don't really understand & don't really know. But you can't just go around telling people what they do and do not know! If you ask me that's just another example of human stupidity. Sorry if I'm offending anyone right now. It's just when people do that, I just get extermly annoyed.

I agree with heather... you cant tell people what they can and cant do. everybody was affected, just because they didnt lose somebody in 9/11 doesnt mean they couldnt have been personally affected. Think about it: firefighters and policemen were lost in that horrible attack too. some people have parents who do that for a living. they spend every day of their lives thinking about how another attack like that could happen again and next time it could be their parents. or what if they want those jobs? they could be thinking about how it could happen to them, and what their families would feel. you cant tell people they couldnt have been personally affected because they didnt lose anybody in the attack. they spend their lives in fear of another, and people living in New York or Pennsylvania know full well it could happen again.

also dwelt, i did not say that he was being disrespectful, i said he needed to show more respect. the way he voiced his opinion seemed rude to me, and i wanted him to know that.

yeah, it probably was disrespectful and arrogant to assume that everybody who has those fears doesn't understand. my mom has this huge fear about my brother because he's always talked about going into the police force, national guard, or any kind of military or security type field. so I understand those fears. but those are personal. and my mom would never say "9/11 was the worst day of my life."

  • Heather

Well that's your mom, not every other single person there is. It was pretty arrogant, not sure about disrespectful, but definetly arrogant.

I just re-read this and would like to add to my previous post:

Uh, is it me or is this just an excuse for more anti Bush political propoganda on the site?

War on oil.... yeah you mention oil just fine, so what about Afghanistan and the soldiers that died there fighting the Taleban?

You're nothing but an agenda pushing hack who happily omits information to slight those you hate and fail to understand, sir.

    I do

  • Bret Higgins

The original post has nothing to with Iraq, it's all sub text.

  • AGirlWorthFightingFor

Hey, didn't FBI just bust some terrorists plotting attacks on subways in New York City recently?

We don't live in fear because we live in a fairly low-key area of the states. Though we've had our share of terrorism, just never from people who were non-American citizens. And they weren't really part of any larger, semi-organized group.

"Do you have that same empathy for those families in Iraq and afganistan?"

I do too. They lost family members too, and some of them children... like as in little kids.
