Ok my school has UNIFORMS! UGH! A public school. It sucks. And it's soo strick we can't wear hoodies. But this is Louisiana. The clothes people wear hang off there butts and girls wear something were there boobs hang out. But I mean who thinks that something should be done or do you think that it's fair? |

and what does this have to do with us reading stuff like this? Some schools have uniforms, they all have different ways of how they want their students to dress. So get use to it. |

I don't mind having a uniform at our school, but the teachers are a bit lax about it all so its alright...and in the end it does benifit the students...if you are really concerned about it get all students together confront your teachers and principle and discuss the alterations that you would like....if you are really lucky who knows you may have a say in next years uniform. |

Get over yourself, Southern Charm. It's just a school uniform and anyone who thinks wearing hoodies being against uniform policy is unfair is just pathetic. Why should you wear them anyway- how on earth would you be representing your school? Unless of course you want to give an odd impression, go for it. But I would think hoodies are a tad bit inappropriate and you’re school has evidently made the correct choice of simply banning them. |

i just finished high school and we had a uniform.. sure we got shit from the other schools in the area due to our metallic gold ties, but at the end of the day uniforms are a lot easier, they identify the student to their school, and no matter how much people piss and moan about the costs it really is cheaper to spend about $200 on a uniform that you can wear for a couple of years rather than new clothes for each season. plus if you need to rely on clothing to feel like an individual it really doesnt say much for your personality does it? |

Same here, I go to a public school and this is my first year wearing a uniform...like ususal it was something for me to complain about but after the third day of school I was over with...Yeah we cant wear hoodies and jeans and backless shoes anymore, but we can wear black jeans, khakis, gray and brown. Our tops all have to have a collar....and its really not a big deal. I do believe at my school they are blowing it way out of porportion though... |

i think itd be cool to have uniforms. i mean if theyre not that strict. like girls- acertain skirt and shirt and tights or knee socks. i would find loopholes like.. wearing my skully knee socks. or black anbd grey argyle, or my skull tie. or blakc nad pick star one. iii would simply stay in restrictions but find loopholes. =] |

Southern Charm... yes, I have the same problem. I'm going to be put in a school with a VERY boring uniform. I've been home-schooled all my life, so it is difficult to suddenly have to be put into a school, shoved into a uniform and try to get along with other kids. |

Umm.. by uniform do you mean "no corderoy, shirt must be such-and-such a color" or a uniform that is an actual outfit especially made for that school, complete with white blouse with emblem, skirt, blue socks and school shoes? |

Oh my god! ALL OF YOU! CHILL!!!! She was simply saying she had a problem with it and you are telling her to get OVER herself? That is totally rude and I suggest you all get off your high horses and get over YOURSELVES. If you don't have any USEFUL advice, keep it to your self. Is it really that hard to comprehend? I think you need to retake Kindergarden if you haven't already learned the golden rule "Treat others as you would like to be treated"...and don't fool yourself. ALL of us have petty problems from day to day life. We may not post it on a bulletin, but you still get upset most likely over some silly stuff that others may not understand. And honestly, the whole uniform policy bugs me too!! It's CLOTHING. I spend my time on the weekends shopping because it gives me something to DO!! And I like buying cute clothing FOR school because God knows I never really leave the house over the weekends or after school!! A lot of clothing stores get the majority of their business from students who don't have to wear uniforms! That's just one economical perspective but mine is personally that I HATE feeling like a clone. I hate feeling like everyone else, I hate feeling like a dork in high knee socks, polished black shoes, a granny skirt and a button up blouse. I feel like all of my individuality has been stripped of me and with it goes my true personality. My humor, my sense of belonging, my personality, it all thrives from what I wear. I feel comfortable with myself if I'm wearing loose, soft clothing. I feel pretty and confident when I'm wearing something that may show the curves of my body a little bit! I LOVE it! And I would be highly disappointed as well if someone told me I couldn't wear what i wanted to anymore! And if you can't wear a hoodie, which I interpret that as a sweater basically, that's incredibly stupid!!! Because the schools I go to are ice cold year round and a skirt and short sleeved blouse are never going to keep me warm. |

No, I understand very well that you shouldn't sweat the small stuff. And I struggle with that everyday, trying to control things that I'll never be able to control. And sometimes, I know, you just have to go with the flow. I know what you SHOULD do, I know what's considered morally right to do in this situation, but knowing that in itself doesn't change that it may be difficult to accept. Especially if it's a new change! It's hard to adapt to. From wearing what you want one day then being alike to everyone else! I understand also that it might also cut back on stereotypes, but a lot of the lessons that i have learned in life, about not caring about what people think, those stereotypes helped teach me that! And if you take that away, some lessons might be taken away from others. Which is why I'm saying I do not like the uniform. Others may love it, sure. I don't mind. Go ahead and wear uniforms! I just know that I would have a hard time with it too. I wasn't degrading your post and I had no problem with what you were saying. I had a problem that ticked me off with the rude and disrespectful posts from others being cruel and uncaring for the sake of being cruel and uncaring! |

I hate it when they force you to wear uniforms, but then don't even make those uniforms comfortable or practical. |

i would love to have uniforms at my highschool, you save ton of money, you don't have to wake up worrying about what you have to wear, people won't judge others on their clothing, it only has plusses. |

Well the uniforms really havn't solve anything at my school. Everyone just gets even more pissed off and it's crazy. They don'tlisten anyways we'r etold to tuck in our shirts but no one does it. They're getting really bad at it. They're just completely out of it. And yes it lacks an idividuals to express who they are. That's how you mainly see a person, by there clothing. People don't feel like themselves because they feel like everyone else. That's not what society is all about. It's about being yourslef and feeling like yourslef and no one else. |
