Baby names

I did not know where to put this so if I put it in the wrong place just let me know.

I love my fiance very much. We've been engaged for probibly 3 months. I am not pregnant, but one day he was like "When we have kids...what do you think of Kiara for our first girl's name?" I really liked it and told him that would be great (assuming we have a girl). I told my mother the name we want for our first girl and she just like gave me a wierd look, then when I wrote the name down later and told her to read it she couldn't even pronunce it correctly and when I told her how to say it she was like "Oh that's what it is." I don't think she likes it very much. She likes my fiance and doesn't care if we start naming our kids (that we probibly won't have for 5-10 yrs)...but she just doesn't like that name. I was wondering who else dislikes that name...(even though I know it is our choice to name our kids what ever we want) and if you dislike that name what other name would you suggest?

I know it is up to what we like, but I just wanted some suggestions.

I think Kiara is pretty...exotic and different. Then again, I like really unusual names. But name your daughter what you feel like naming her. The name is for you and your fiance, not your mother.

I like it, it's the name of the lioness in the Lion King Two. Simba's daughter. I've always loved that name =)

um i think dat that is an awsome name! i always wanted to name my doughter nadaysha or tashori u probly think these r wired but i think they are cute names for a baby gurl. um if u like these names u can use them i dont care.and its good cuz no one has these names and its good to have some new names in this world

Kiara is so cute! It's unique and not many people have it, and I love unique names. My name is melanie and I really love it because not many people have it.
Other cute names are Adia(a-duh), Adel (a-dell), and Gabrielle.

It's a nice name, yeah. I guess some people would have difficulty in reading and pronouncing it, but it's not bad.

My only concern is that the baby likes the name when shes older. Trust me, there's no one in the world who could dislike their own name as much as I do. :|

When I get older I want to name my daughter Khayden also spelled Khaydun.

No I do not have any Japanese in my family (or his). I'm Italian, English, German and French and he is African, Spanish and Natrive American...if that helps any. :P...lol

i like the name miley.. i don't know why.. my mum gave me a wierd look when i told her that i liked that name once, she said she'd never even heard of it. And i don't know if i like that name kiara, cos im not sure how ta pronounce it lol.. do u like the name bridget? that's my name lol.. most people don't even really like their names that much but i actually really like my name and its good cos not too many people are called bridget.

Anything unique with a deep meaning is a beautiful name.

I used to know a Kiara, she was a really good person, outgoing and a friend....it's a nice name and just remember it would be YOUR kid your the one who would carry it for 9 months and the one who watches it go from a beautiful baby to a wonderful woman.... ofcoarse you don't have to worry about this for another 5 to 10 years, right !?!

I'd love to name my girl Aarmani - Arabic for 'light' or 'faith'.
And as for my boy; I'd name him Mustafah - arabic for 'The chosen one'.

What's with all the new names kids are getting these days. What ever happened to the good old fashioned Jessica and Amanda.

I just love how every one tries to be different when choosing baby names.. And no, I'm not saying you. Sorry I wanted to get that out, I just recently found out about celebrity baby names. Like Apple and Seven. Apple is a fruit, and Seven is a number.. not a name.

I think Kiara is a pretty name. And I don't think it matters what your mom thinks about the name, it's not her child.

Kiara Is like one of my favourite names. It's beautiful unusual and exotic.
I've used it for many character's in my books.
The name is lovely.
If it's what you and your fiance want then go for it.
Don't name you child what other's want it to be.
