I'll add you if you'd like to talk about this. I may not know a lot about it, but I'm learning about communism in school and I'm very interested in learning a lot more about politics. I'm at school but once I get home I can add you if you like :)

If you like Marxism, stick around here in the United States, because Capitalism can only last for so long.Laws ,laws and more laws passed every year, chipping away at freedom.

I guess you can say its Utopian in theory but then again so is a place called heaven.
Yes there are those communists that say failures are due to corrupt Marxist theories and there are those who will also say (because of the human element) it can't work.
There is more to it then just Omon there is, Cheka, KGB, Gulags -blah blah blah.Started way back to the inception period. In other words, "Communism is great but first we have to annihilate opposition. "We're here to make sure the masses left are happy and goddamn free. We'll kill or imprison anyone who gets in the way.
    Yeah great Idea. No thanks.

    ^ to you

How you can fully judge a system in which you have never lived in. The capitlist do the same as you so boldly point out, anyone who disagrees with them attacks them for their ways are imprisioned, i suggest you watch the movie anarchist in america and see for yourself

If communism was in power and not this system that is overrun with closed minded fascism, you be affraid of so called "democarcy" because the idea of something different seems to frighten you

And you attack a man who worked his life on his works making this system and you seem to know a bit about him. But you ignorantly point out the russian communism(not really communism) but if you had known a bit more yo would've known that KARL MARX had declared that if the this party under Vladimir Lenin was marxist that he himself karl marx was not a marxist

The idea of communism works in a reality, if you actually study it and for it to work the people need to to be ignorant or affraid of change but seeing how most people are like that here in north america, the working class will always be inslaved

Hmm... for a thread that was starting to sound quite intelligent and, for once, consisting of something of substance to discuss (although maybe slightly closed minded in some opinionated, and maybe not too factual, comments), you ended your debate with a rather ignorant statement.

Generalisation is never factual - there will always be that one person or small group within a group or movement that does not fit "the mould" or, in referral to your previous comment, that is not ignorant or intelligent on the same side of the respective movements you're talking about...

How is it that people judge a movement, religion, cult, revolution etc by how "intelligent" the leading person is? Its a fact that Hitler was extremely intelligent. So too have been many fanatical leaders in history that have led to masses of groups of people killing themselves for a sacrifice to some aliens who will be descending upon the earth at some stage or another... all because some smart freak decided it would be great to soak in a power bath while it lasted...

So if you're going to discuss things like this - how about you do it based on facts, evidence or past experience rather than on how book smart or how ignorant each party leader/creator is...

communism will never beat capitalism because communism controls what people can buy or sell, whereas capitalism believes in free trade. like one of you said, it looked good on paper but didn't work in real life.

like nazism, fascism, and monrchism, communism will eventually die out. communists rely on revolution to take over areas. but in the end the communist forces get kicked out when the people get tired of their restrictions
