i just wanted to know what you think about natives...i've been feeling a little down latley about being called an indian. wats your opinion on how we look, act, live

Thanks..but uhh...im not american im canadian, it seems like here in canada, well in my highschool, and on the streets in towns, or even when im in the city people (non-native people) look at me like they hate me when they dont even know me..not that i care if someone hates me, i cant change the way they feel, but damn..why?is it because im brown???

I understand what you mean about being from canada and getting the looks that you do. It's kind of sad considering canada is one of the most culturely diversed countries in the world. I grew up with blacks,Asians,Indians,Italians etc. and it doesn't make a difference of what your skin colour is or how you look. There will always be racism and there will always be those stares no matter what. The fact is there are very few Native Americans compared to other races now, so they just kind of fear what they don't know. Don't worry about your background, take pride in who you are and where your from.

I love what I am. I'm hispanic German and something else. Racism is stupid its just people afraid of new ways. People that judge other people but what race they are, are just stupid :D. I say that alot to. "is it because i'm brown??" Native people are awsome! I love it when they speak their langege.. (I spell bad)

What do I think when I see a native person?

Well it depends, if they are cute, I will say...Damn you cute...

If they are smart...I will say damn you smart

If they got attitude...I would say "Oh Pleeeeeeeaaasee"

If they are shy....I would look at them and smile...

What I am trying to say in my own way, is that I do not define a person to one race or ethnic background...I define the person on who they are...

Grrr....I hate racism. It drives me nuts. I think those who are racist are just scared....they're pansies. I don't think there is anything wrong with being a native....it's who you are. If God wanted you to be different he would have made you different. I think the people who are prejudice against you are simply afraid of the difference. Really inside they're just like you....they just can't see that past your amazing looks!

Hmm maybe it's beacuse this one day i was in the library tryning to finish up my homeowrk for my next class..this non-native girl was sitting across from me and i could just feel her eyes staring at me.....sure enough i looked at her and she didnt take her eyes off me...damn so i continued working and my god, she wouldnt stop staring at me, it got to a point where it was annoying me and getting me very mad so i asked her WTF she was looking at..her whole face went red and she was like..."at YOU!" i stood up and used the old saying..."well take a f*ckin picture b*tch, maybe it'll last longer!"...yea then i walked away she mumbled something but i didnt hear..and yea everyone thinks because of that..I'M racist....would you think the same thing>?

Lol...She wasn't staring at you because she was racist...She was staring at you maybe because she found you attractive.

Racism is wrong... that is a fact.

we are all the same, even if we do not look the same we are all the same inside, there is no difference between us...

some people are used to getting racist comments or glances, and that makes them start to think that everybody thinks of them that way.
but that is also not true, not everybody think in racism. i am used to people joking about me as the "half-hispanic girl/cutie" they don't mean it offensively, but even the fact that they accept me and them as different is wrong...
okay sorry, you probably get my point, i get all upset about that kinda stuff.
i hope we will eventually be able to change that.

History lesson: The Native Americans were called Indians because Christopher Columbus thought he journeyed to India when in actually it was America...And because the native Americans had reddish brown skin tone....They were simply called by the spaniards as "Red Indians"...

the core of prejudice is not accepting or liking someone because of their looks, beliefs, age, views, religion, sex, etc. seems like very few people can accept someone having a different view from them

i'm paraphrasing because I could barely understand William...but I got to express the irony of that line, because its weird that you would go into promoting being anti-racist and then say something. That is the exact problem with this world. Someone BELIEVES something different than us than we got to go and fight and kill for it. But instead of people minding their own damn business and neither bombarding people with their belief or hurting someone because their lack of belief, we got people who stick their heads in others people faiths or whatever and people who got to fight because they don't believe in something someone else doesn't believe.

Okay, I think that racism is just a waste of thinking.
I mean they could be thinking about anything else, instead of.. how to make other races depressed, or whatever it is tthose racist people think about. Lol.
I think that thinking about how to clean your living room would be more worth your time. :/ And, that's pretty lame, eh.

Racism is pointless in my opinion b/c we all live in the same society our kids go to school together we work together so so whats the point cause you can't really escape another race can you?
