Hi, I Have A Dilemma

Some people from the school I go to recently invited me over to one of their houses to watch The Grudge.
But, I have a problem... I can't quite stand horror movies. A few years ago I watched Project of the Blair Witch and was traumatized for literally months afterwards.
Despite this, I still want to go because I hardly ever get invited over to other people's houses, and I would really love the opportunity to just interact with other human beings, but I'm afraid of coming across as rude if I refuse to watch the movie with them?

Does anyone have any advice? Or have you seen the Grudge and know if it's actually that scary?

    thanks

It wouldn't be rude to refuse to watch it. everyone knows not all people like scary movies.

at least you'll be sitting with friends to watch it. ask someone to warn you about some of the scary parts too if you need it. but you don't have to sit through the whole thing. I'm sure you can still go do something else with someone who'll get bored of it if there's a group there.

they won't make a big deal over it really.

That reminds me of a charming anecdote.

a few years back when halloween ressurrection came out, myself and my friends rented it. well i sat on a couch on one side with my friend mike on the other side.

well when mikel myers popped out from behind a mirror and killed a guy, mike literally flew out of the chair, jumped out. i could tell he did it because he shook the whole couch when he came down.

    oh good times

I hate horror movies...I watched the Grudge..and was perfectly fine about it.
I wouldn't even call it a horror movie, just one of those films that make you jump a few times, that's all.

I love horror movies but they scare the crap out of me so I hide under a blanket or bury my face in a pillow. Yes, I know it's sad but thats how I deal with them lol.

You'll be fine, really; The Grudge is nothing in comparison to films such as The Excorsist.

I was 10 when I first watched it. I slept with light on for the next six days :).

When the ring came out my friend john told all of us before we watched it that we'd never sleep infront of a t.v. again, so afterwards my brother eric moved the cot he was sleeping on right infront of that t.v. of course he died seven days later for some odd reason, just kidding, but it's all true except for him dying

    ^^HA! That was funny:)

Anyway, just go and hang out and try not to really pay attention to the movie. It is dumb anyway and you'll just probably fall asleep on it...well at least I did. Have fun!

I was sleeping with my mom for a week. Lol. I'm a little baby when it comes to that. But don't feel bad. It's okay, it's just a movie. That's how I get by movies now. But afterwards i watch something funny for a while before I go to bed. Usually helps for me. I use to have this problem. I couldn't watcha scary movie by myself, now Im watching them all the time by myself. Don't worry you'll get over that. I won't always be a burden to you. Just try and watch as much happy movies. That movie is pretty freaky though. Lol. is it 2 or 1?

    Wow, thanks for the support...

at the end when I arrived at the house they'd rented Eragon (which I'd already seen) and they said that maybe next weekend they'd go to the movies to see The Grudge 2.
I've watched some movies, like The Others, without really getting spooked... so I guess I'll survive...
but thanks again for all the tips and jokes :-D

Its not bad to tell the truth and they'll probably understand that you are easily traumatize by such things
