Do you realize

    That we're all comment junkies??

I think I would rather have one really honest , lengthy comment on each poem than 20 one-liner comments on each.
    Any thoughts?

I'm guilty for one-liners so i cant really say much.. lol and i do agree that we are all comment junkies..

Thats not true. even if i do leave a one liner that does not mean i dont read the poem. I read each and every poem that i comment on.. i mean i try not to leave them. but sometimes it just happends..

    It doesn't just happen.
You need to at least give an attempt to give good critism.

Ok. thanks.. although i will try to leave longer more detailed comments from now on..

and it can "just happen" sometimes i have a long day at college and when i come home i want to read poems. well if i have a head ache im more prone to leave a less then adequate comment. just means i had a long day and i dont want to comment as much.. and i want to read poems.. every poem i read i comment.. i make sure of it..

    Hmm.
Well, I agree we all need a little less addiction to comments...

I hate one liners... When I read someone else's work and they agree to comment on my work, I often feel really let down. A lot of the time it's just "Good one, keep up the good work! 5/5!"
But they don't even vote on it... If you're willing to rate a poem, you should at least make sure that the rating gets to the reader... Then at least I know you actually care, somewhat.

I refuse to write one liners. Even if I can't find one little error in it, I'll say why it's so perfect. Even if it's just rambling about how wonderful it is.

I put my work up here, so that I can get a really honest opinion on it. Rather than hearing how wonderful it is from family or friends... I want people to read it, and, since a lot of them require the reader to think, figure out what it is I'm trying to say, then tell me.

Yeah, some people don't have time to do the whole detailed comments thing... But still... It's just such a let down to get the continuous "good job, 5/5" things.

Yeah i dont do the "good Job, 5/5" thing. i try to leave a couple sentences.. at least.. i agree it is a let down if its only that..

Yea, i mean sumtimes i do the one-liners, but if i liked the poem alot i will leave a lengthy one

I personally would like people to vote more instead of comment unless they're constructive critisism. But thats my personal opinion.. it seems most ppl just chuck one liners out and dont vote i know people write good things but i would like to see how they rate my poem.

Yeah, i hear you on that one...

people rarely have the guts to say what they really think about things. comments are public, but voting, that's annonymous.
as much as i appreciate the comments i get, if you can't leave me at least some form of criticizm, or at least a little insight into your thoughts from reading it, then you might as well just skip it.
