These times were bad enough to advocate the killings and beatings of children? So, you're saying, because now-a-days global warming is happening, we should kill our children when they do something wrong? If we did that, everyone would be dead. Everyone curses their father or their mother at least once or twice in their lifetime. Its no reason to kill someone. And by overlooking that in the Christian faith, I assume that you, too, advocate child abuse and murder. That doesn't sound very Christian-like, now, does it?

    Phantas:

What the hell are you on about...Why are you applying something that happened long ago to today's standards...?

And can you tell me where do I or the Christian faith avocate child abuse and murder?

    ...Think log-person think...

Dude, you're the only person who has put a logical or on that matter a even good post in this entire topic. I mean my god... lol I just made a funny. but anyways... It's true, I'm a Christain, and yet some things n the bible, seem, well, how do I put this... You don't use oranges to make an apple pie right? That's how I look at the bible now, because it has been translated by so many people through so many generations. My parents are always like, God wouldn't let his word be changed, yet, he'll allow his world to be changed!? And his children!? Not making sense in any way. Just saying.

ps: You don't have to worry about offending me, I don't get angry very easy.

I'm applying something that happened long ago to today because its being USED today. People still follow the bible, and some are extreme enough to think that if the bible says child abuse and murder is right, then it is. So build a better arguement. Kthx.

    ^^

    Lol...

That's funny, because last time I checked not all christians or at least 1% of Christians around the world kill their children or abuse them based on what they Bible say that they do...

The Bible is a history book and a guide recounting what happened in the past, and what people should or shouldn't do. It's all going to be based on interpretation, and from what I gather no "sane" person would ever abuse or murder a child or person.

So rather than me building a better argument, I suggest you actually fix the cracks in yours...

Oh dear...it seems you forget that more than half the population in America is abused..and the reality is, almost everyone is 'insane' these days. You may be right, I'm sure that when they abuse/ murder their children they don't have the Bible in mind...but memories stay forever, so if they read the Bible, and the Bible made it seem right, whose to say it didn't make a great contribution to their sense of perception? Maybe they remember that the Bible said it was right, so they decide it must be. The Bible doesn't make people do things, but you must admit, with the Christian religion and the Bible to lead them, anything they do can seem 'right'. And if it's not, all they have to do is confess, and they're goin' to heaven again. In my opinion, Christianity is a very, very flawed religion I'm sure people would be better without.

Christianity is a religion that is and has taken root in many cultures, so to say that America half the population is abused...I may not live there, but it may be true...

But across the world Christianity hold special meaning to different culture's hearts, and many cultures don't hold what you think "they abuse/murder" their children to heart. I think you have a very perverse view on what you think Christians are doing to their children.

I mean if you look at how America came to be, build upon the foundations of being christian orientated from the very beginning, by your logic, there wouldn't be an America today, seeing as the Puritian Americans would kill their children or abuse them...

Seriously the bible is just a book, yes people abide by it, but they pick and choose what to follow...

EXACTLY. And those people who drowned their little girl because she borrowed her mother's nailpolish without asking...

those people were Christian. HXC Christians.
