To my mirror

by Arunansu   Mar 6, 2008

The feel of a noose around my neck
for so long

a sleepy reside under the gallows all day
- can't bear it.

Tired of watching
your rebuking eyes, uneasy brows,

a nose hidden in handkerchief
as if it sniffs
an obnoxious Me.

Frustrations attempted to slit my wrist once,

yet the thought of hours drying up
before my blood,
seized me.

I would have dived from my balcony,
but for my agoraphobia.

Days drag on
and I get tempted by snapshots

of hypodermic syringe, bullets and guns.

A paperweight hurled at you
will only make their reflections
multiply
