Mindful of me He gave it all

by Lemon Squeezy   Aug 19, 2014

What would you give up, what could you go without?
Would you give the things that excite and make you shout?
What could you stand to lack, what could you give and not take back?
Would you give up possessions or money filled sack?

All the riches we struggle to release from fist firm,
The desires, the plans, that never come to term
Prevent us ever to see through glass so bleek
The Truth, the Life, and the Way that we seek.

The riches, the possessions, the popular fame,
The root of evil, greed, our blindness, our pain.
The strongholds and struggles we cherish so dear.
Often prevent us Salvation ever to hear.

There was a man who struggled not to give his all,
To seek and to save sin's slaves was His call,
He had no home, no money,no power or fame,
That man was Jesus today and forever the same.

Every sin thrust upon Him in death on the Cross,
Never gave He a thought to the depth of His loss.
God So Loved the world that He gave up His Son,
What would you give for a God like that One?

Christ gave up His life for you and for me,
He died mindful of nothing His thoughts only of thee
Into Hell the Saviour of man was viciously hurled
For that Saviour, how could you not give up the World?
