No more amnesty.

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 21, 2014

A pen's ink is not always trustworthy, it can be treacherous,
poisonous to a nation divided by diversity instead of united.

- No more amnesty, Mr. President -

The citizens of this country will not lay in spit upon graves
by a guiltless master who knows what a felony is.

- No more amnesty, America! Stand your ground, secure your borders -

We welcome you with open arms if you obey the law,
the leather of your skin, the soot underneath your eyebrows
has never disgusted us.
You are laborers too, but what more can we do then work on reform?
You are waiting... and waiting... and trying to create a home
yet our homes were not our privilege. We had to save, construct,
pay if not for the roughness of our hands,
the backbone of a generation peeling away,
honoring the toil, the work mustered for this land.

- No more amnesty, Mr. President, you are no president of mine -

Our Constitution will be upheld, but not by the one seated on
the throne, face angled toward his kingdom with an all-knowing smile.

The lies won't vanish until the power does...
