Monopoly of Life

by James Garrett   Jul 11, 2016

It's strange how life is. Much of it is in the throw of the cards. Many born into old money and have always had the luxuries of life, some beat the game and become wealthy. Others try as they might, seem to have life go against them and they are slated to live from paycheck to paycheck. God gives them the aptitude but takes it away through genetic disposition, dooming them to mediocrity. There simply must be a life after this one where everyone has a level playing field, receiving the necessities to live prosperous lives with a mate that they love dearly. I sometimes think this is all just a comedy of errors, maybe a huge board game set up by the gods who only use us as a monopoly game for their enjoyment. If there is a loving God then surely he has prepared a table of wondrous things for those of us who don't give up on this injustice and pain that we endure. Perhaps behind the veil of senses there are curtains that we step through, finding joy eternally, with the perfect mate to run and play on the expanse of the universe. How wonderful to believe this, so that we may faithfully bare the turmoil of life and to find that it was all worthwhile.
