Life Wrapped Up In You

by Bill Turner   Mar 17, 2008

Time is slipping away, ever more
As I am drowning in my soul
Never knowing when it will pour
Running over the edges of my bowl

You keep me sane when all else fails
Carrying me through the storms of life
Everyone else fills my hands with nails
As you wipe the tears and sweat of strife

Hold me close as my time draws nigh
For there is always an end to the ebb and flow
I may never pass on to the land up high
Dwelling ever on in the fires below

Life has passed me by on the avenues
Leaving me to wonder what could be
As I forever sing the soulful blues
Your love forever carrying me

Keeping to myself all the empty years
As they are no more, because of you
Life washed away by empty tears
Grateful, forever loving you

    I love this line,

Keeping to myself all the empty years
As they are no more, because of you

One person can make all go away and make life worth while, even if it's short. Love it sad, but beautiful.

What a sad yet beautiful poem. The love you feel really shines from your words.

Keeping to myself all the empty years
As they are no more, because of you
Life washed away by empty tears
    Grateful, forever loving you

To have this kind of love in your life is a true gift. One to treasure and hold close.
    Excellent job my friend.
    Love Cindy
