RE: Are You?

by Ben   Mar 19, 2008

*NOTE*
This is a response poem to the poem, "Are You?" by "GoodMorning". this will more than likely make no sense unless you read that poem first. Thank you.

I have never been much of a gardener,
But I love watching things grow,
Weeding the doubt from your heart will be tough,
But with both our hands we'll make it through.

I am no warrior,
I have no swords or shields,
However, I do have a heart,
Hopefully it will destroy all those fears.

A writer I can only try to be,
But those things written on your heart,
They are written in permanent ink,
Together we can learn from the past and make a new start.

I never did so well in school,
A scholar I am not.
However to define a promise,
Would be as hard as showing all the love for you I've got.

Through all that, I may not seem like much,
I cannot be, what I am not,
Although, I am a lover.
And my love for you will prevail,
Believe it or not.

I didn't read the first poem but this is still a really good poem. Well written and beautiful. The reason I didn't read the first poem, is because a poem should be good regardless if its a response or not. Very good write. 5/5

You are my gardener, my warrior, writer and scholar. For my mind, and heart and soul.
To me you're all those things,
and the things I had asked if you could do,
you do them all. Better than I could ever have imagined. I love you so much. E>
