A different delight

by Iola   May 21, 2008

What is this gaze in your eyes?
Something utterly strange and unfamiliar
Why do you seem to lift my disguise?
When I have become the master caterpillar

Why do you want to eat me up?
Each time I curl into your arms
What do you taste from my cup?
Whilst falling hard and fast for my charms

Who am I when I am with you?
When we make each other sore high
How come you make me want to be true?
When I'm quite content with living a lie

What is this feeling that shoots through me?
When I shiver with more than just lust
Opening my eyes to what I don't want to see
How can you care for a heart made of rust?

How come I just want to smile when you're close?
Whilst I know that I can never be useful to you?
Wanting to want you with your red rose
But once again, knowing what is the right thing to do
