Who I Am.

by Alter Ego For Rent   Jun 3, 2008

I am all you ever wanted.
i am all you ever needed.
i am all that you will miss.
i am all that you will ever regret.

those are my eyes in the mirror
my paper tears in your drawers
you drove a stake into me
whispering "just don't move, just don't move."
my fingers yearned to break from yours
to tear my lips from your mouth.

but you kept me there, whispering "just don't move, just don't move."

distances, miles, are cocaine for your heart.
yours gets fonder and fonder.
mine further and further.

I'm running from the girl in the mirror who i just can't seem to place.
I'm the girl in the rain standing on your front porch.
My hair plastered to my skull, the sky is wailing for me.
Did you ever notice how we all become redundant in the end?

left a message on your phone, whispering "this is the end. this is the end."

this dial tone must register on the Richter scale.
