Outstretched

by Ignoris   Oct 21, 2008

Drowning, drowning in a pool of blood.
Deep, yet not so deep that my outstretched feet cannot skim the floor.
Shallow enough to torment me, leaving me wanting more.

Drowning, drowning just below the surface.
Where the sun's bright rays still penetrate my weakening eyes.
But deep enough that I must bid goodbye to the fading blue skies.

Drowning, drowning out of grasp.
Just out of grasp of a reaching hand that longs to hold me.
But through murky water they cannot understand, cannot see.

Drowning, drowning through a world where everything's black.
Falling deeper into chaos, a water that can burn.
A time of disregard and the point of no return.
