Wondrous

by Iola   Dec 1, 2008

His silence like the still of the ocean
The calm before the storm starts to blaze
Like the good smell of a deadly potion
An erupting volcano just after the haze

His touch like the bite of a beast
The delicacy of his poise leaves me still
Like the Viking he starts to feast
On the body that must be changed by a pill

His kisses pour like pure acid rain
The familiar stabs into my heart is felt
Like the surgeon who just induces pain
Into the bodies of those who can melt

His manure captivates the heart of me
The stains caused by his clause go away
Like the hero who saves the cat from a tree
Just to throw it back into the pool of dismay

His love underwritten by conditions and terms
The promises from his mouth like a flame
Like a red apple filled with ugly worms
Only my trusting heart that is to blame

His eyes make me want to believe in more
The prospect of romance a sinful lie
Like the ocean it can sooth you and tore
Onto a beaten soul that just knows to fly
