You Know I'm No Good

by Inside the Liar   Feb 5, 2009

My cell phone rang a tune so familiar
I looked down and saw your name on my screen
But I turned it to off, and shook out a cigarette,
Not in the mood for another "but I love you' scene

I lit up and inhaled the bittersweet taste
Propped my feet up and leaned my head back
Tried to stop the playback of my actions
Turned my brain off and tried to relax.

But like a mule you kept persisting
My cell phone kept ringing and screaming your name
You kept leaving messages hoping I'd call -
Pointless when every one says the same.

You knew when you met me that it wouldn't last
You knew you wouldn't have me forever to hold
And now you're hurt though you know I'm no good
But the fire went out and left my heart cold

This is the end; it's finally coming
There's no joking on my part when I say goodbye
Plead all you want, I don't really care
I'll just try again with the next Mr. Wrong guy.

Wow Skye I just loved this! The flow was flawless and your rhyme didn't seem forced at all. This was so easy for many to relate with which is why it touched onto my heart cause I know exactly what you were talking about. We all fall fo someone we think is no good for us yet we fall anyone. Its a cycle sometimes we cannot control but you don't have to give up just cause you run into a lot of frogs on your way to your prince.

"I'll just try again with the next Mr. Wrong guy."
^ I loved how you ended it! It tied everything together nicely.

    Well done.

I like what you have written. It's just so relatable. Eventhough i'm a guy this things kindda happens vice versa. Each and every lines wat portrayed clearly of how the protagonist is feeling towards mr wrong. Though it sux to fall for mr wrong...it is still not too late to back out from it.

    Excellent Job
