All I've Ever Needed

by Joy   Feb 22, 2009

This unsuspecting Heart
Belonging to me
Stunned with paralyzing terror
Like a little boy walking through his dark bedroom when the bulb on his nightlight suddenly fizzes and goes dim

My once illuminated heart is now empty, cold...
This interminable wait for someone to rescue the princess within from the dragon most of us are fighting, lonliness.

Never begging for help,
Damsel born into Distress
Almost second nature to Cry myself to sleep
Not anymore, The refusal is embedded in my heart and crochet upon my soul.

I Wear my Happiness like A Barret
No longer artificial happiness when "friends" are around
Real, 'Im smiling alone in my room' kinda of happiness.
Often mistaken for insanity.

Frozen in the arms of lonliness,
How impossible it may seem to the world.
Im now cuddling, snug tight in the warmth of my own friendship,
My thoughts are my own..
...They're all I've ever needed.
