Doll on a String

by Danielle   Mar 11, 2009

Once there was a doll on a string,
Brought into a world with no honesty.
Bouncing around with a smile on her face,
Scars and tragedy strikes fierce.
Her heart might break,
But that's okay.
Her eyes will smile again,
Some way.
Starring to the vacant blue sky.
She sits there with the sun in her eyes.
Illuminating her sad porcelain face
As she slowly decays to dust and waste.
She stares off happier than she seems.
Never knowing what's around her and what it all means.
She still sees the world as green.

The shadows that pass her by,
Never stop to say hi.
They never even look at her and the diamonds in her eyes.
They just keep moving as she sits aside and cries.
There is not much for a girl to do when she cannot get moving.
When all she can think about is hate, and never anything soothing.
She sits there stiff, her hair wavy
Cannot help but think maybe she's crazy.
She lies down and her eyes close.
Sobs deep from her stomach arose.
Tears fall down her face, she cannot face reality,
She cannot be what she wants to be.
She cannot see what she wants to see.
So open up your eyes!
