Response to Blake

by Aubrey   Mar 24, 2009

What immortal hand or eye
Could create such an image as I?
Pieced together, an open soul
For a heart, she has a hole

Create so fine, an image of thee
As you mold the most perfect me
Thrust me into the night time woe
With no path as to where to go

A dream that's dreamt, what can it mean?
Things aren't always what they seem
Divine images that they will never find
Created as perfection in the mind

Can you make a heart worth beating?
Or will it end up silently bleeding?
Can you make it without the pain?
Or is it a beast that you can never tame?

Can you make the eyes of hate?
Or will it be of Heaven's gates?
Will it be a mystery of night?
Like the tiger burning so bright.

Did you make the lamb like thee?
Evil and good for all to see.
Two creations made so fine.
Mixed together with you in mind.

I've been waiting for this poem since you told me about it. I loved it almost as instantly as I started reading. It reminded me of his poem about the tiger...my most favorite poem of all time.

I loved it...that's all I can say. You're an excellent poet and can create such baeutiful peices. This is definetely going on my favorites.

100/100 (that's what I'd rate it if it went that high)
