My Everything

by Inside the Liar   Mar 27, 2009

I gave you my everything.
My words, my heart, my touch.

And you swore you felt the same
As your hands ran their path.

Sloping over the curves
That were my body

Your lips ran down my skin
As if you were born to do it.

I always gave in to your touch,
Because a love like yours...

Was something I'd never felt before.

And so when it came time to make a decision
I didn't stop to think

I just gave you my everything
My words, my heart, my touch

Because when you swore you felt the same
I believed you without question

Though, if you meant it,
It only lasted through that moment

I made you into my everything
Thinking you wanted forever.

How foolish of me to have not known
That I was just another notch on your belt.

I learned a valuable lesson from you though
About making you my everything

Your love lasted a nighttime, and a wonderful night it was
But then the sun came out and you were gone.

And I was left reaching for an invisible body
You were my everything for a night.

But now that it's over...
You've left me with nothing

Nothing except the memories
Of an experience I'll never forget.
