If Only I Were Yours [I'll miss you when you leave]

by SceneQueen108   May 22, 2009

I dread the day thats to come.
How could I have been so dumb.
In five weeks we depart.
Yet your already tattoo'd to my heart.

I wish you didn't have to go.
I wish all I had to say was no.
My heart will be torn in two.
I don't want our friendship to be through.

So leave me then with one last kiss.
Let that moment be an everlasting bliss.
I'll explain my hearts true desire.
Promising to never forget me, is all I require.

"I wish I could be yours just for today.
To keep kissing your lips with no delay.
The day you say good-bye.
Is the day that a bit of me dies, and the day that I cry.

Stay a little longer.
I know I'm making this harder.
Let's just spend this night tonight.
Doing what we think is right.

Let's not run around and hurry.
Let's not sit and worry.
We'll spend the night as if there's no tomorrow.
Tonight I'll give you my heart to borrow."

When you leave tomorrow.
The only thing I could say is it of sorrow.
I don't know what to say or what to do.
Other than kiss and say I love you.
