House Of Lies

by Deana   Aug 3, 2009

Lavender tinted sky
Rests upon the willow
No beauty in a house of lies
No tears on Satan's pillow

Lowered lashes hides the shame
Torn dress, she wears it well
Excuses for the bruises
Secrets she won't tell

Teacher smiles and looks away
Preacher preaches on
Each day around three o'clock
She takes the long way home

Sadness turns to anger
A hardened heart can't break
Emptiness protects the soul
leaves nothing there to take

Lavender tinted sky
Rests upon the willow
No beauty in a house of lies
No tears on Satan's pillow.

This injects a hint of sorrow and sadness after I finish reading this. And I could understand how life goes on for other people when you are in pain, or rather, they choose not to observe and understand.
This is my favourite line: Lowered lashes hides the shame.
    5/5!

WOOOO, that was awsome. I really loved how you repeated

No beauty in a house of lies
    No tears on Satan's pillow

and you were able to fit it so well together. The description was great and flow too smooth, i liked the idea and theme. A true poem nice work.
