Imagination

Imagination

In the silence, I could hear your voice
It mingled with the falling rain
Softly whispered words of love
. . . Trying hard to erase the pain

A dreamer's imagination,
fading with the morning sun
The light is pure... but blinding
To the heart of the lonely one

A touch that ignites the heart, a glowing ember
Burning images into the soul
Left there in the ashes
Fading away... and growing cold

Heart awaits, in patient longing
The warmth of a new day
Sunlight glimmers in the distance
. . .oh so far away!

A dreamer's imagination,
fading with the morning sun
The light is pure... but blinding
To the heart of the lonely one

    Hello Deana

As Kay says, this is an excellent piece with lovely flow and natural rhyme which I love to see in a any poetry.

    All the best,

    Deana,
This write is absolutely timeless in the expression of capturing anguish and hurt.
The flow was impeccable, though in my heart I can't say it was on purpose. This had to come from deep within as only pure writes that convey the emotions as well as this one are not staged for flow or checked to see if they adhere to what others call poetry.

One of your very best writes in my opinion.
    Excellent.
