My Heart's Reward

by John   Jun 15, 2004

If you ask someone to close their eyes
And think of the thing they would most prize,
Differing things each one might say
That would make them happy throughout their days.

To live in riches, now that's a thought,
With nothing imagined that can't be bought.
A house on a hill with a beautiful view
Or perhaps a sports car, shiny, new.

A boat to travel the seven seas,
Maybe wings to soar above the trees.
Silver, gold, and precious jewels,
But nothing that compares to you.

Beautiful, funny, a companion true.
Your kiss, your touch, God, I love you.
So give all the others what they request,
I know in my heart my prize is the best.
