Kill The Joy

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Jan 8, 2010

Thou have stolen my heart,
Like a rising sun steals the night's glory.
Thou have turned it into a calm sky with rainbows,
After the passing of a hurricane's fury.

I look at thee and i seem to shake,
Like a tree surrounded by wind.
Oh how much your company seems delightful,
How i treasure the times we spend.

I look upon thine eyes- they shine,
Something just seems to spark.
The brightness that our chemistry brings,
Lights up the dreary dark.

Dear Sire, my silence speaketh what i feel,
It says what words destroy.
Look into mine eyes and read what they say,
Hence, we will not kill the joy.

* The language of the eyes is much more powerful and expressive than that of words.

We all these days so much rely on the power of words and have forgotten how 'eyes' used to be so powerful. I still believe in the power of eyes would surely like to call this one a very very beautiful poem with great theme.

    Walah
Beautiful piece you have penned. Our eyes can reveal so much about us. There is a quote that says "the eyes are the windows of the soul" How true this is.
    Great job!

The eyes are the outlet for the truth and the soul of a person. Tongues speak what they call the truth, the eyes never lie. Well done.
