Cosmic dust

by Behind Blue Eyes   Feb 12, 2010

Why don't you sing me something.
something tender, something sweet.
why don't you sing me something.
a lullaby to drift me to sleep.
lure me in with your daring words.
captivate me with your touch.
capture my attention and my heart,
word by word, i'll fall like such.

head over heels, sickened with love.
but you never even fell in lust.
you told me i was your shining star,
but i meant as little to you as cosmic dust.

so why don't you sing me something.
something bitter, something cold.
why don't you sing me something
of your broken promises and truths untold.
you've lead me on for far too long.
reveal your lies and break my heart.
yes, i fell. and i hit rock bottom.
wasn't that your plan from the very start?

Such a great job! I completely understand the feelings from this poem. Teasing mind games.
