Time Should Be

by Minkus   Sep 1, 2010

Once again the time has come
A sacred time
A sober time
A time that begins
and ends
Not one that slurs
and blends
Not an unconscious time
but a brief waking between one sort of sleep and another
between a wanted sleep and a needed sleep
between a craved sleep and a hated sleep
between a numb sleep and a calculating sleep

This is a time of life between death and death
Only stacked like a dry sandwich

Only moments between eternities
But moments defined and valued,
while eternities are wasted and spun away into the black nothing of the past
These moments--treasured and sanctified and put away into secret recesses
Loved with all the heart and mind
without regard to feeling, shallow feeling
Loved

as time should be
