Loneliness can definitely bear down on the heart like none other. Heart wrenching truly, although independence is important..it's always nice to have some company. Brilliant piece!

This is a wonderful poem though I have but one suggestion on it. In the last stanza there is a grammatical error. It should be "than" not "then". A very easy mistake to make. Otherwise this is quite a sad but beautiful poem. Looking forward to reading more.

Beautiful contrasting in this stanza to express the inner sorrow amidst plentiful sunshine surrounding.

My face wet as my heart begs
for companionship of another,
a hand that reaches out for me
in love and need.

Yes, we all have deep longings for true love and companionship in this life.
