Cast Out

by Elizabeth   Oct 26, 2011

Cast out
The woman who put so much into loving you
Only to be returned with heart ache and pain

Second best
Your priorities are twisted
When will you realize you cant have everything
Blinded by trying to hard to be something your not
To do something you cant succeed at

What about family
Your girlfriend, your son, a home
Tossed into a corner to chase a fantasy most likely to fail

You cant save the world
We are all falling into a black abyss and no one will help
Nothing will get done and things will remain as is

We live day by day
Month by Month
I cant do it alone and i cant raise your son alone

He needs his father
Someone there when he is sad or having issues
Father to son

A family as one
Yet again we get cast out
out into the cold to make room for a false fantasy

when will you realize
try for a good cause but neglect your family
you cant win both wars

I agree that the emotion is well expressed. The description and emotion went so well together, and really showed your true voice. I could feel what you felt at certain points. Fantastic piece

I would say that the emotions behind this poem are immensely sad, touching and deep reaching in to the soul of the reader. Such moving words, certainly deserve a nomination, so others can read what happens when there is a breach of trust with a small child in the middle. The most moving read of the week for me. My heart goes out to your child, deprived of his father's love, and to you on the shortsightedness of your loved one. 5/5
