You're In My Heart

Have you ever spent the night
praying and thinking of him?
Have you ever lost time in the day
to hope he is as happy as can be?
Have you ever realized
how deeply your soul cares for him,
or how much he trusts you
as his second voice?

Someday, through some halos of light,
you'll see why I am here,
why I have never considered leaving your side....
You mean the whole world and back,
the endless circle of a life I would wait
forever for,
more than anyone or anything else
in the world, I love you and will never
stop protecting you
for you are the one happiness
I will always hold,
no one can hurt you.

    You never fail to light up my day with your writings, MaryAnne:)

    I don't think you ever had a NDE, but your words do reflect that joy and the knowing, deep understanding that love is all that matters and all that will remain.

    This poem is how I feel about my son, he is the only person that is truly mine and will always be:) The feeling for the man I love is about the same, but on the background it is mixed with the knowledge that one day he might leave me and he will be free to go if he does..and that is the difference between the love for a child and the love for a spouse..the love between parents and children is unconditional and everlasting:)
